Monday : 23/07/2018

Today my design engineer has assign me and my partner to inspect the new helicopter that arrived last week. The Inspection is for the installation of 

  • RC6000
  • Skynode s200
  • GPS Antenna

The installation is used for Long range communication. It purpose is to able a better communication with the base hence increase the security and safety levels.

while the inspection, some measurement we have to take first and evaluated before the installation take places. that is the Location. It is suitable and safe ? This include for the The front cockpit panel for RC6000. The cargo spaces at the back part for the installation Skynode s200, and the on top of the cockpit for the installation of the Gps antenna.

Unfortunately, the measurement is not completed as the technician is still doing some importance inspection on the current helicopter.   

Tuesday : 24/07/2018

Today our task is to do another inspection continue yesterday's work. Today Our design engineer is here to assist our work while evaluate our performance at performing task. Proper measurement on the location fro installation and the size and weight of the skynode, rc6000 and the GPS antenna is performed.

Based on our observation and measure for the location whether it is suitable or not. i can say for the RC6000 is a bit complicated and need a lot of work because theres not much space to work with. most space in the cockpit is mostly taken and it is not easy to relocate because it may effect the electrical compartment in in the system. So the alternative is we only have to bottom panel that can be relocate and the space is just enough to fit in the Rc6000. 

 For the skynode s200, the location is at the back of the cargo where it is supposed to be. but because the floor of the cargo is not consistent and not suitbale to install the Skynode, a fabricated part needed so it can hold the skynode while not touching the inconsistent ground. 

For the antenna,the location is suitable and nothing is disturbing the GPS while at it location. So the location for GPS antenna is ideal.

Wednesday : 25/07/2018

Today we have been assign the task to make a presentation based on the task given at the hanger. For the presentation, me and my partner Hafiz is assigned to make a presentation on structural analysis on the installation of the three things on AC120 Airbus Helicopter :

  1. RC6000
  2. Skynode S200
  3. GPS Antenna 

The structural analysis are included the installation method, the location, the design and drawing, and the strenght analysis based on JAR. The Presentation will be held at the training room on next week monday. 

At the evening, i started doing some of the strength calculation based on past project for RC6000, Skynode s200 and GPS Antenna.

Thursday : 26/07/2018

Today i going to do the strength analysis and free body diagram for the fabricated parts. 

the Fabricated parts that need to be calculate the strength analysis have 3 parts.

  • the Panel block for RC6000 
  • the U shape Mounting for s200 
  • the doubler for Antenna

For the Rc6000, the wight is about 0.31 kg while the panel weight is about 0.07 kg consider the thickness of the panel block is a bout 1.2 mm so the weight is considerable. for the strength calculation, there are certain regulation or demand by the regulation so it is considered safe. According to the JAR 561 (b)(3) the following demand must be justify.

  • Upward - 4g
  • Sideward- 16g 
  • rearward - 1.5g
  • forward -16g
