Industrial Training

Throughout 12 weeks of industrial training under Royal Malaysian Navy, I was assigned to 4 different department related to engineering in the Lumut base. The 4 departments are as follow:

1. Unit Penguasa Selenggara Barat (UPSB)

Function:

1. Supervised the maintenance process of TLDM naval ships at shipyards.
2. Documenting the maintenance process.

2. Pasukan Projek Littoral Combat Ship (PPLCS)

Function:

1. Team project for the upcoming combat ship (in build) which is LCS.
2. Monitoring the project that taken by Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS).

3. Cawangan Penguatkuasa Kejuruteraan Armada (CPKA)

Function:

1. Research and planning the standard used by RMN.
2. Supervised the seaworthiness of RMN’s ships.

• Act as the Centre Of Excellence (COE) for RMN.

4. Depot Selenggara Armada Barat (DSAB)

Function:

3. Gives technical assistance to TLDM ships in terms of repair and maintenances until Level 2 and 3.
4. Manufactures small products needed for the ships and other departments.
