Graduate Attributes
Through this CompFair activity, I was exposed to different aspects of the computer business, including coding competitions and career opportunities for graduate students. Here's a contemplation of the graduate skills I developed:
1. Communication Skills: I had intelligent conversations with other students on everything from database technologies to data security procedures during the event. Engaging with colleagues from various backgrounds enhanced my communication skills and provided me with a deeper understanding of the field of computer science.
2. Thinking Skills: There were a lot of brainstorming sessions during the event. Prominent speakers and moderators encouraged critical thinking and creative innovation by probing attendees with thought-provoking questions.
3. Scholarship: Especially in the areas of professional and social spheres, this event shed light on the concrete societal ramifications of our field. It emphasised how important scholarly endeavors are to influencing technology in the future.
4. Leadership and Teamwork Skills: Although I've always been comfortable in my leadership role, this event gave me a special chance to improve my teamwork abilities. Even as a frequent participant, I enjoyed working together to complete chores because I understood how crucial teamwork is to accomplishing common objectives.
5. Adaptability: Adaptability, in my opinion, is the capacity to learn new abilities in the face of changing conditions. This event demonstrated adaptation by smoothly switching to a virtual format amid the difficult Covid-19 epidemic circumstances.
6. Global Citizen: As someone who was born and raised mostly in Egypt and now lives in Kuwait, I was acutely aware of the necessity to adopt a global viewpoint during the event. Interacting with both domestic and foreign participants reaffirmed my position in the tech community as a global citizen.
7. Enterprising Skills: Participants' enthusiasm and commitment were clear signs of their innovative nature. Observing their passion and commitment was evidence of the vitality of enthusiasm and drive in propelling creative projects.
