My dear,

"When I tell you about hope,
I want you to imagine
the sweat dropping off Hajra’s skin
as she insistently runs for water
in the midst of the desert.

I want you to feel
the pain and the strength
of a father like Ibrahim
when he looked into his son’s eyes
as a sacrifice to God;

Feel the betrayal in Yusuf’s heart
when his own flesh and blood
tossed him away like garbage
and the thick darkness inside a whale
where Yunus resided, alone.

I want you to picture the wide sea
in front of your feet
as Musa fled from the pharaoh
and how terrified Asiyah must’ve been
as she resisted her violent husband.

Scream, as Bilal’s bones get crushed
while his mouth uttered the shahada
and wonder how Rasulullah
could still continue his path
as blood was flowing down his head
and soiled meat was thrown at him.

And maybe then
when you see it all, feel it all, imagine it all,
you would learn that
thirst didn’t win over Hajra and Ismael,
and Ishaq wasn’t slayed.
Neither did Yusuf end up unsuccessful
and Yunus forgotten.
Musa and his people still crossed the sea,
Bilal saved out of nowhere
and Muhammad’s mission is blooming
like never before -

because my dear
hope means not seeing an escape yourself,
but knowing that Allah
always does.

“O you who believe! be patient and excel in patience and remain steadfast, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful.” (3:200)"

-"Believers face the sufferings with prayers,
repentance and good deeds.
The non-believers face the sufferings with
doubts and confusions. They blame Allah or
make arguments against Him."

• Whoever Allah wills to guide, He opens their heart to Islam [Al-Quran: 6;125]
• Do not despair of the mercy of Allah [Al-Quran: 39;58]
• And He is with you wherever you are [Al-Quran: 57;4]

• When you see a person who has been given more than you in money and beauty, then look to those who have been given less.(Sahih Muslim)

• No fatigue, disease, sorrow, sadness, hurt or distress befalls a Muslim - not even the prick he receives from a thorn - except that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 70, #545)

• The matter of the believer is very surprising. Everything about her is good for him; No one has this feature except the believer. When he gains something pleasant, he gives thanks, and thanksgiving is good for him. When faced with something painful, he is patient, and patience is good for him.(Sahih Muslim)

• "Surely there is in our hearts an unsatisfied place which can never be satisfied except in the presence of Allah. And in this place there is a sadness which cannot be removed without knowing Allah and fulfilling the rights towards Him. And there is an emptiness which is the love of Allah, Returning to Him cannot be filled without His remembrance. If a servant is given this world and all that is in it, that void in his heart will not be filled. " (Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him)

• The path (in the life of a believer) always begins with danger and trial, then comes patience and trust (in Allah). But the end is radiant, of guidance, of victory...
