Mini Report

This program by CGMA serves a purpose to expose first year SCSV students to the process of creating augmented reality that will greatly benefit us for projects in the upcoming years. The software we learnt to use was Unity, which is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies. First, we were given a short talk about what augmented reality is about and how it works and some other more information about it. Afterwards we get our lunch break. Then the next session in the evening, we start to learn how to set markers on objects using some materials that are provided specifically for this activity. After setting markers, we proceed to acquiring some 3D models and start to merge it with our surrounding using our laptop's webcam. With the help of our seniors, we have succeeded on producing a satisfactory outcome.

Self-reflection

This activity was quite intriguing. At first, it was a little tricky to follow because It was my first time working with augmented reality technology. Never have I thought that I would be able to use Unity to make augmented reality work. This activity also gave me an insight to what my future will be, which is to work with technologies relating to graphics. Besides that, it made me realize that there are many things that I have not discovered yet. Hopefully, I will be able to master more digital graphics skills and I am definitely looking forward on joining such activities in the future.
