SECP 1513-01 TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION SYSTEM

I have carry out a lot of project with my team members along this semester and I really appreciate the assistance of them. We work together with the great teamwork spirit from everyone. Let me introduce them to you.

1. Rohaizaazira binti Mohd Zawawi  - She is really good and talented in drawing and design.

2. Zereen Teo Huey Huey - She always actively contributes her ideas along the discussion. 

For our first class,  I learn about design thinking. Design thinking is a way to think a solution for the problem creatively. It is divided into a few steps which are empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. By following all of these process, my team successfully come out with an product known as Cable Care. It is an application which can help to detect the live of phone cable. The pictures above show some features of our application. Through this application our group hope we can help users to :

1. reduce the high frequency of buying a new cable
2. determine which platform is better for buying a new cable
3. have enough time to prepare a new phone cable

Throughout this project, I have learn a lot and know what is my weakness in designing a new product and cooperate with my group members. Hence, I will improve myself for the next time.

This project let us learn about the tools required to assemble PC, the component that consist in the motherboard and their function and lastly the process of PC assembly.

There are basically 9 steps to assemble PC :

1. Attach CPU on motherboard
2. Mount heat sink on motherboard
3. Install RAM
4. Install power supply
5. Place motherboard into the computer case
6. Install graphic card
7. Install hard disk drive
8. Install CD ROM
9. Connect front panel cables to motherboard

By sketching the layout of motherboard, we are able to identify the component in motherboard and their location.

The industrial talk let us learn more about what is industrial 4.0 and the future work that fit the market requirement under IR 4.0.

The speaker also introduce to us the important elements in IR 4.0 :

1. system integration
2. simulation
3. cybersecurity
4. cloud computing
5. additive manufacturing
6. augmented reality
7. big data and analysis
8. autonomous robot
9. industrial IoT

In IR 4.0, the shopping mode of the users also change from visiting physical store to e-commerce. This reduce their time and the users more preferred online shopping mode as they have more choices. There is also the creation known as smart home where all the devices is connected to internet and can control by using smartphones. Based on the talk, our group also create a poster with relevant information.

From the talk, I realized that I should always learnt from the past, appreciate the present and try to change our future into a better world.

The second industrial talk that I attended is the talk with the topic importance and trending of IT project management. 

By attending this talk, I know that the importance of IT project management is :

1. plan the starting and ending time of a project
2. minimize the cost required by a project
3. maintain the quality of the product
4. estimate the benefits gained when finish the project
5. minimize the risk faced by the project
6. every members can know their role in the project

Besides, I also learn about the trending of IT management is :

1. Gig Economy market
2. more focus in big data to be analysis
3. Artificial Intelligence will replace human power
4. change management style to be success
5. method melding
6. control of emotion
7. changing tools and solution

As a conclude, by attending the talk, I realized the project management is very important to ensure a project can be carry out smoothly. Hence, everyone should learn how to manage the elements such as time, cost and quality of a project. I also know what I should prepared and change to follow the trend of IT management.

Industrial talk 3 is the alumni sharing session where the seniors share their experiences when they are in university, intern period and also work. Throughout the session, I know what I should do during my university life so that I can be more competitive when compared with others. For example, I should always actively take part in competition as I can trained my confidence to talk in front of many audience and improve my technical skills. During internship, I need to ask and learn from others to gain more knowledge and experiences. Communication skill also very important and I should mastered it because most of the time I need to work in a team. 

I also learn about cloud computing along this semester. Based on the research, the top 3 cloud computing service providers include Amazon EC2, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. 

The cloud computing divide their services into 3 parts :

• Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
• Platform as a Service (PaaS)
• Software as a Service (SaaS)

It also consists of 3 different cloud models :

• Public cloud
• Private cloud
• Hybrid cloud

Through this assignment, I learn more details such as comparing based on their storage, security, OS environment offered, pricing model and monitoring tools. Based on our discussion, my group thinks that the Amazon EC2 is the best compared to the others.

After learning this course, I gained a lot of new experiences and knowledge regarding to technology and information system. I believe all of this will be useful for me in future either in work or daily life. I think the most interesting part is the PC assembly but it is a pity that we cannot demo it in reality. We also do not have the chances to visit the industry due to Covid-19, but I learned a lot by attending the industrial talk webinar. I really appreciate to have Dr.Azurah as my lectuter who always helps and assists me and my team members so that we can complete the task assigned smoothly. Besides, I would like to thank my team members that always cooperate and show good team spirits in completing all the tasks. Lastly, I will keep on my effort on study and try to apply the knowledge I learn in this course to become the top in my program.
