The UTM IssBD program, focusing on Penang Heritage Explore and USM Visit, provided an enriching and insightful experience for all participants. The program aimed to combine cultural exploration with academic engagement, fostering camaraderie among attendees while broadening their horizons.
Penang Heritage Exploration: The excursion to Penang offered a vibrant tapestry of cultural experiences. Participants had the privilege of immersing themselves in the rich heritage of Penang, exploring its historical sites, diverse cuisine, and architectural marvels. Visits to iconic landmarks such as George Town's UNESCO World Heritage Site, Penang Hill, and the vibrant street art added depth to our understanding of the region's historical significance and cultural diversity.
The interactions with local artisans, historians, and community members provided invaluable insights into the preservation efforts and the stories behind Penang's unique cultural heritage. Engaging in traditional crafts, tasting authentic local delicacies, and understanding the fusion of cultures enriched our appreciation for Penang's multifaceted identity.
USM University Visit: The visit to USM University offered a compelling academic perspective. Interactions with faculty members and students provided a glimpse into the academic and research endeavors at the institution. Engaging discussions and campus tours facilitated a deeper understanding of the academic programs, research initiatives, and the vibrant student life at USM.
Self Reflection: The program fostered bonds among participants, including friends, seniors, and juniors, enhancing teamwork and collaboration. The diverse experiences, ranging from cultural immersion in Penang to academic insights at USM, created a holistic learning environment.
The memories created during this program are invaluable. The exposure to different facets of Penang's heritage and the academic atmosphere at USM has not only broadened our understanding but has also left a lasting impact on personal growth and cultural appreciation.
A prize giving ceremony and a grand dinner was held in that program to encourage everyone to participate more in social work, events & exhibitions and study hard for remarkable results.
