REFLECTIONS OF DATA ANALYSIS FINAL PROJECT
- INTRODUCTION:
Suicide, taking your own life, is a tragic reaction to stressful life situations — and all the more tragic because suicide can be prevented. Whether you're considering suicide or know someone who feels suicidal, learn suicide warning signs, and how to reach out for immediate help and professional treatment. You may save a life — your own or someone else's.
It may seem like there's no way to solve your problems and that suicide is the only way to end the pain. But you can take steps to stay safe — and start enjoying your life again.
Suicidal thoughts have many causes. Most often, suicidal thoughts are the result of feeling like you can't cope when you're faced with what seems to be an overwhelming life situation. If you don't have hope for the future, you may mistakenly think suicide is a solution. You may experience a sort of tunnel vision, where in the middle of a crisis you believe suicide is the only way out.
There also may be a genetic link to suicide. People who complete suicide or who have suicidal thoughts or behavior are more likely to have a family history of suicide.
So I choose a dataset based on the suicide rate from 1987 to 2016. The dataset created by Rusty. He took the data from four organization United Nations Development Program. (2018), World Bank. (2018), Suicide in the Twenty-First Century [dataset], and the World Health Organization. (2018).
- REFLECTION:
R programming is very effective for data analysis. I learned plenty of things to do data analysis in R. Throw-out this course I learned how to use R.
In this project I tried to test the Hypothesis, Correlation, regression, ANOVA, chi-square table, boxplot, scatter plot etc. maybe I got some weird result but I want to say I came to know very well how to use R programming which is very easy and an impressive language to learn.
For Hypothesis, correlation, regression, ANOVA, chi-square, etc. if we want to test them without R. It’s quite difficult to analyze. There is a long process to do that on the other hand R programming is very easy and faster.
I faced some problem to do this project. First some part I did not understand so I had to search on internet and find out the solution. Another thing is that this is an individual project so I got no one to help me. I got trouble finding a good dataset to analysis.
- CONCLUSION:
First of all, I want to give a huge thanks to my lecturer Dr. Ariyati Binti Bakri for teaching me this amazing subject. The course taught me plenty of things which I did not expect before.
Now I want to talk about this project. I was having trouble getting a good dataset which a huge number of data. So that I selected a data which has Suicide Rates Overview 1985 to 2016 dataset compares socio-economic information with suicide rates by year and country and contains suicide data of 101 countries spanning 32 years.
I choose this dataset because 1 month ago a Bollywood superstar name Sushant sing and his assistant commit suicide. As we know suicide as a major problem in the world. So I tried to learn plenty of things regarding suicide and I came to know that it is preventable.
Finally, I think that I can write down in my resume that I have a knowledge about Data analysis.
