UKQF2342 Reflection 03 - Story Telling & Poem Recitation Night 2022
RSS
As I thought back on the cultural event we held at Dewan Perdana on November 13th, three words came to mind: creativity, ideas, and motivation. "Story telling & Poem Recitation Night" was the name of the event. It was organized by ISS-Bangladesh. It was wonderful to take part in an event where representatives of my nation showcased our culture through songs, dances, poems, and performances. The storytelling portion was enjoyable because I discovered some new, interesting details about the lives of these students. As far as I can tell, this event has been a good way for me to interact with the host and locals. I was able to deepen my connections with those who cared about me and those who were interested in learning more about me thanks to the storytelling event. It has also given me a chance to reconnect with myself and consider how my migration has affected me personally. When everyone in the audience applauded and encouraged me, it was a wonderful moment. As a result of telling my story in front of a large audience, I have improved my communication and public speaking abilities. My adaptability has also increased as a result. Everyone left the story-telling and poem-recitation event inspired and feeling a connection to the shared poems, songs, and stories. The audience went home having gained a deeper appreciation for the impact that songs, stories, and poems can have on the world. Everyone was incredibly grateful to the organizers and the amazing performers. As they all departed, they all felt a sense of optimism that occasions like this would continue to unite people and spread the influence of songs, stories, and poems.
