ExCEL 3 : CULTURAL EXCHANGE 2022 (CULEXC '22)

Mini Report:

The Cultural Exchange 2022 (CULEXC '22), held by JKM KTDI UTM on June 17-18, 2022, highlighted various cultures while also actively promoting vital graduate attributes. The program promoted global citizenship by highlighting UTM students' abilities in both traditional and modern areas like as dance, costume, and cuisine. The emphasis on understanding other views and behaviors encouraged good communication, which helped individuals strengthen their communication skills. The event's aims, which focused on exposing other cultures, supporting global cultural heritage, and stimulating cross-cultural learning, were well linked with graduate characteristics. Furthermore, by bridging the gap between local and foreign students, the program fostered cultural understanding and collaboration.

The program successfully achieved its goals by effectively enriching participants with new experiences, resulting in a vibrant platform that not only highlighted diversity but also helped to the overall growth of UTM students. This intensive experience not only increased cross-cultural knowledge, but also established a long-term appreciation for global viewpoints, equipping UTM students to collaborate effectively in an increasingly interconnected world.

Self Reflection:

As a committee member for CULEXC '22, I had an exciting time that helped me improve my communication skills greatly. Coordinating the program necessitated clear and effective communication within the committee, resulting in smooth teamwork. Engaging with folks from various backgrounds improved my capacity to communicate across cultures.

The event emphasized teamwork and collaboration, as we worked together to exhibit cultural abilities and create a colorful environment. Navigating hurdles within the committee highlighted the significance of good teamwork, which is critical for the event's success.

Furthermore, this program helped me evolve as a global citizen. Exposure to many cultural viewpoints, along with active engagement in bridging cultural differences, increased my understanding of global interconnectivity. This experience underlined the need of building global unity, understanding, and collaboration, which complements the characteristics of effective communication, teamwork, and global citizenship. As a committee member, I not only saw but also actively participated to cultural exchange's transforming potential in building participants' senses of connectivity and mutual understanding.
