Industrial Training Experience

Scomi Oiltools was formerly known as KMC Oiltools. The company have two core division which are:

• Drilling fluid

• Drilling waste management

I was done my industrial training at Scomi Oiltools Sdn Bhd in 2010. I was trained as a drilling fluid engineer for a 3 month. Basically, I was permenantly assigned to the technical services deparment. Within this department, I am dealing with the tender and variety drilling fluid formulation. Within 3 month as drilling fluid engineer, I was attended basic drilling course, successfull finish with shale dispersion testing project and successfull organized a team building activites for the company's staf.

1.  Shale dispersion testing project
2.  Drilling in water deep  testing
3.  Mud formulation testing
4.  High pressure and high temperature testing

During 3 months period as a drilling fluid engineer, I was assigned to the shale dispersion project. The objective of the project is to determine the shale inhibition control. The muds or drilling fluid were developed after a detailed study of many commercial muds, they are based on the widely used potassium chloride partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamid.
