Self Reflection

  1. I now realize how important it is to have a community garden in the neighborhood. It could be the sole thing that keeps the community together as a means of unity.
  2. A community garden is very useful as it can save you money because you can just eat whatever you grow as one of the speakers has said during the talk.
  3. I think it is important to have an independent source of food because there could a pandemic which cuts the world's food supply and your home-grown garden is your best choice

Report

I participated in an online webinar session hosted by Sains Kesukarelawan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) on December 21, 2021. The primary goal of the webinar is to instill communal responsibility in participants in order to ensure the greenery of UTM's surroundings, as well as to promote self-induced enthusiasm in volunteering in a community garden. Because of the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, the webinar was held online.

The webinar's speaker was extremely knowledgeable about the home and garden landscaping and was ready to share her experiences, benefits, career opportunities, and long-term accomplishments with the people who attended. The workshop allows participants to observe firsthand how a community garden works and what kind of contribution one can make to society, in addition to gaining critical information and knowledge about how to grow our own crops and produce our own fresh foods. The speaker used her own experiences to discuss the theories of community garden management, which was a lovely revelation.

Overall, the webinar was perplexing for those who attended, and it may have influenced the participant's decision to assist in the community garden.
