COURSE REFLECTION
We are all different and unique in our physical appearances, characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. That is why we have this course Graduate Success Attributes to develop basic skills and important soft skills such as communication skills, thinking skills, scholarship skills, team working skills, leadership skills and adaptability skills. I have discovered my true self by recognizing my own strengths and weaknesses throughout this course. This is very important as these skills can prepare us to face the challenging outside world in the future. Of course, special thanks to our lecturer Mr Lokman who always makes our class interesting and fun, even though we had a long day before going to our GSA class, in the end Mr Lokman just made our day with fun class activities. The activity I remembered the most is our Communication Activity. I am very happy to get to study Graduate Success Attributes (GSA) course in UTM.
INDIVIDUAL CASE STUDY REFLECTION
I am very happy to have the chance to do an individual case study for Graduate Success Attributes course. From my research on the topic "Baby Dumping in Malaysia", I found out that the awareness of unprotected sex and sex education showed significant link to Malaysia’s baby dumping issues. It is important that teenagers have useful knowledge on sex to protect themselves. I feel that teenagers tend to make the wrong decisions when they are at a state of despair, hence we should show care for them. The negative perceptions received from the society by youngsters suffering from unexpected pregnancies can have very serious impact which could not only lead to baby dumping, but ultimately the mother herself committing suicide. We should not look down on the teenagers, but guide them and support them with the correct way. With this case study, I hope that the future generation will learn how to protect and love themselves, with aspirations that baby dumping cases in Malaysia are minimized. Babies are priceless gifts from God, instead of viewing them as trash to be dumped away, we should learn that they are gifts to be treasured.
