Mini Report
Culfest’21 is an event launched by JKM KTDI. It held from 28th until 29th May 2021. This program consists of various cultural activities such as language classes, cultural quiz, cultural forum, cultural sharing session, video contest and photo contest. The objective of this event is to foster cultural spirit among UTM students and encourage the UTM student to concern and understand more about the local as well as foreign culture. I have joined this event as one of the technical crews. The main reason I be this event’s committee as I desired to learn and master extra skills.
Throughout the program preparation, I have further strengthened my leadership and teamworking, communication skill as well as adaptability. As a technical crew, I require teamworking skill to work and collaborate with PIC, multimedia crew, MC, and speaker to ensure an online programme conducted in success. Furthermore, communication skills are also vital for me to discuss all the ideas and changes required for better improvement in the technical control and operation. I have enhanced my adaptability through this event to adapt in collaborating with many new and strange person and I was succeeded to adapt myself.
Self-Reflection
As a technical committee for Culfest’21 programme, it was quite challenging and interesting for me because it was my first experience to using Streamyard platform to conduct a Facebook Live sharing session. Upon the preparations of Culfest’21, I have obtained teamwork skills as I and another technical crew cooperated to organize a sharing session. We helped and assisted each other to ensure the sharing session conducted without any technical issue and mistakes. I have gained communication skill to learn how to communicate effectively in order to deliver message in time to solve the sudden technical issues.
The self-strength that I acquired from this event is the skill of controlling and using Streamyard platform and learned the method in conducting a good online event as well as Facebook Live. Nevertheless, I also faced challenges during the Facebook Live sharing session when the internet issues of other committee happened. I was able to stay calm and adapt to the immediate occurred problems by handling it successfully. I believe the skills and knowledge I gained from Culfest’21 event will improve my ability and assist me a lot to organize an online activity in the future.
