Mini Report

The justification for me joining this event is due to the reason of the theme is regarding to Graduate Employability which I’m interested in. Thus, I have joined this sharing session to learn more about how to increase the graduates’ employability from experienced senior.

In the sharing session, Mr. Dennis Ling Hua Sid who is UTM Alumni and currently a reservoir engineer was sharing his knowledge and experiences about the engineering as well as graduate employability throughout the session.

The graduate attributes that are focused on this event were thinking skills, global citizen and enterprising skills. During the event, there were a plenty of new input about acquired engineering skill and graduate employability that stimulate my thinking skill. Other than that, the event has enabled me to open my viewpoint to be more future-oriented as well as develop my ability in identifying and exploring the opportunities around our surroundings particularly before graduating.

Self-Reflection

This event is very inspiring because it has opened my eyes and motivated me to learn more knowledge and skills related to graduate employability to prepare myself for the future as well as secure my employability once I graduate from UTM.

The online sharing session has given me the impact on graduate success attributes which are thinking skills, global citizen, and enterprising skills. My thinking skills are enhanced as I have obtained new information about the relationship between accelerated industrial development and employability, as well as it indeed inspired me. To be a global citizen, system and future-oriented thinking are very important as I acquired them from this activity. Apart from that, my enterprising skill also improved because I have learnt from the speaker's experience in adapting and exploring opportunities and utilizing them to my advantage.

The advantage I gained from this program is insightful and new information about my interested topic, engineering and employability. However, there existed some challenges I faced which are difficulty staying focused and frequently being distracted during the online sharing sessions. All these challenges can be solved by having enough time for rest and finding a suitable environment. In nutshell, I really am benefiting from this event, and I believe I can apply all the knowledge and skills gained in the future.
