Mini Report
This program is a sharing session hosted by the Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail (JKMKTDI) Student Residential College Committee for the 2020/2021 term on March 16, 2021 through JKMKTDI Webex Meeting). Two panellists, Dr. Salasiah Abbas, Assistant General Manager United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand) and Mr. Tan Choo Seng, HRO Consulting (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., collaborated in this sharing session.
This program examined the terms "Passion" and "Paycheck," which distinguishes between those who work for their passion and those who work for a paycheck. The relevance of soft skills in students' lives and job preparation to be ready for their future work environments was also highlighted in this program.
Self Reflection
1. The event lasted two hours and was a huge success. At the end of the program, I can tell the difference between working for passion and working for a paycheck. Aside from that, I was exposed to soft skills and other preparation needed to confront the future job environment.
2. From this program, I learned how to find better jobs in the realities of the job market. At first, I thought that after graduation, a good job comes naturally, but in fact, a good job depends on our academic performance, technical ability, internship experience, etc. This helps me realise how important it is for me to appreciate the present moment in order to grow as a capable individual.
