From 11th to 15th April 2023, Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA) organized CompFair'23, a five-day physical event at N28A, Faculty of Computing. The program aimed to motivate and expose students to potential job opportunities. After two years of online events due to Covid-19, PERSAKA was thrilled to plan and execute CompFair'23 successfully.

The event included seminars, guest speakers, webinars, workshops, and competitions. On the first day, students attended a Resume Workshop led by Dr. Suhaila Binti Mohamad Yusuf, focusing on creating professional resumes. The opening ceremony took place on the second day, officiated by Prof. Ts. Dr. Wan Mohd Nasir Bin Wan Kadir, the Dean of the Faculty of Computing.

The Career Fair, held for two days, featured presentations by participating companies, including Icore Technology Sdn. Bhd., Bintara Solutions Sdn. Bhd., Billion Prima Sdn. Bhd., Macross Consultancy, and Public Mutual Berhad. In the evening, there was a Data Science Webinar by Dr. Mohamad Shukor Bin Talib.

The program continued with a Bioinformatics Webinar by Dr. Nies Hui Wen on the third day, followed by a Treasure Hunt and a Cybersecurity Webinar by Ts. Dr. Siti Hajar Binti Othman on the fourth day. Competitions like Coding Detector, Fast Fingers, and T-Shirt Design were also held.

On the final day, an Artificial Intelligence Forum was conducted, featuring panels led by Assoc Prof. Dr. Siti Zaiton Mohd Hashim and Ts. Dr. Johanna Binti Ahmad. The closing ceremony, officiated by Prof. Ts. Dr. Dayang Norhayati Abang Jawawi, included the prize-giving ceremony for the competition winners.

CompFair'23 attracted over 500 participants and aimed to make UTM students, especially those from the Faculty of Computing, well-rounded individuals. The success of the program was made possible with the support of sponsor Valley Printers.

Self-Reflection

As the unit of publicity, my work start way before the programme happen, I sis promoted the programme on telegram channel, pasting the poster at arked, bus stop and a few colleges to make sure that the program are publicize well, At first, I thought being a publicity unit is an easy job, but I was wrong, It was very hard to find crowds for the programme. But I am glad, that my effort for promoting the programme did makes the programme crowder than I expected. We also need to present for all events since we need to update the media social regarding what's happening during the program. It was fun since I get to join the workshop for free, all the workshop are very helpful for computer students.
