Final Year Project

Description about fyp project

Distributed generator has a great significance in the power system. This is because the amount of electrical energy required by the consumer is escalating. Distributed generator has a prominent position in the system. The prominent position is in term of improving the quality of voltage stability and reducing the total losses in the system. Improper size and position of distributed generation not only will increase the total losses in the system, it will also cause the power delivered exceed the transmission line limit. The purpose of this project done is to determine the effect of variable size and location of distributed generation on the line losses. IEEE 5-buses and 30-buses system were picking to be implemented in this project. The project is performed by using a software called Power World Simulator. Several size of distributed generator is placed on the PQ bus. The simulation is performed to determine the losses in the system, transmission line limit and voltage stability. From the analysis, optimum size of distributed generator in the system is 50 MW. Optimum location of distributed generator in 5-buses system is at bus 4. Optimum location of distributed generator in 30-buses system is at bus 21
