Project 2 Reflection

Project 2 is the second project we done through this course. I'm in a group with 3 other supportive members. After we got the instruction from Dr. Sharin in the class about Project 2, we started to choose which data set we want to use as the raw data for our project. Eventually, we all decided to choose the Country Data set to do analysis, which is one of the four data sets provided by Dr. Sharin. Then, we started to divide the project into parts, and I took regression test plus conclusion. We also planned our variables for each test and analysis we needed to complete which are hypothesis test, correlation test, regression test, and an optional test. The variable that I chose for the test are population and growth rate of the countries. I took regression test as we had not learn about regression test and I wanted to try new things at that time. So, I  did some research online and read how the people doing regression analysis. After a while, Dr. Sharin shared her lectures about the correlation and regression test to us, and I really appreciate Dr. Sharin's efforts as I can understand every new topic easily. As we needed R Studio as a tool to complete our project, a cookbook as well as the tutorial slides are also prepared in the e-learning.

I expected to find a positive linear relationship between the population and the growth rate but the results is, the population is not related to the growth rate, which surprised me. I started to hesitate about the result as I thought I keyed in the wrong data, So, I double-checked but the result is still the same. I discussed with my group about the results and consult Dr. Sharin about the results. Fortunately, I can understand and complete the analysis with the help of our lecturer and my other excellent group members. While doing the conclusion, I learned from the results of the other analyses and tests done by the other members. Next, after we completed our own parts, the report is compiled and we started to prepared our slides and recorded video for presentation. Lastly, our group completed the project in time successfully.

I learned many things throughout this project. First of all, is the teamwork. We really work in a group and we will share what we did or what problem we faced in our group. Our members are also completed our task in time, which are very responsible to the project. I also feel grateful as I am in a group with them. Next, I learned how to do analysis to define the relationship among a dependent variable and an independent variable. I also found that the tool like R Studio really help us much in the analytical study. On the other hand, I found that we need to see the real side of issues with evidences. For example, I believed that there is a relationship between the population and the growth rate, though the result is opposite. Thus, we should not see a problem with our own perspectives without any evidence, no matter what issues or news. This is the most educative outcome I learned in this project. Lastly, I would like to thank the contributions of Dr. Sharin who is a very responsible and professional lecture, as well as all of my group members who cooperated with me in both projects of our course.
