SECP1513-11 TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS

1. What is your goal/dream concerning your course/program?

First, my goal is to get a good result with a high CPGA in my university life. I want to get a high CPGA because I want to prove my efforts when I learn. Good CPGA also is key to demonstrating competence when I find a career in the future.

Next, my second goal is to improve my soft skills. I want to be a successful leader in the future. Before that, I must try to train myself in various soft skills such as communication skills, leadership skills, teamworking skills, adaptability skills, etc.

Through the above goals, I hope I can find a good career and have an internship in a big company in the future to continue to improve my skills in all aspects, especially in the field of technology.

2. What is the action/improvement/plan necessary for you to improve your potential in the industry?

The first plan for me to improve my potential in the industry is to improve my soft skills. I will participate in the club activities actively to learn many soft skills from others such as communication skills, leadership skills, adaptability skills, etc. These skills can help me improve my potential in the future.

Next, I will plan to improve my programming skills. I am very interested in programming. So, I will mainly learn programming to make programming my forte. Besides, I will discuss with my friends or lecture about the technique of programming to improve my programming skills.

Lastly, I will always improve my knowledge of the technology information by reading more the article or participating in ‘technology’ activities.

3. Your opinion on whether this subject contributes to your knowledge on specific area?

This subject contributes me a lot of knowledge about information technology (IT) in online class. Next, there are many interesting Industry Talk that held by this course. I learned a lot of new things about cloud computing, augmented reality, 4IR, 5G, and Wifi6, network infrastructure, and data visualisation, among other things. I am more interested in augmented reality and I hope I can find a career about augmented reality in the future. In addition, I learned a lot about Amazon Web Services (AWS). Before learning about AWS, I had no idea what it was. AWS offers a variety of services, including Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, and others. For now, I am able to understand their functions and how to apply them to a system.

4. Acknowledgement for your lecturer

I want to thank my lecturer in this course, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Tariq bin Idris for giving me the lecture about information technology. Dr. was always diligent and patient in giving guidance for all assignments and group projects to help me produce better work. Moreover, Dr. always replied to me quickly and gave me an explanation about my question clearly when I asked a question to Dr. With the help of Dr., I had completed all my assignments and group project. Lastly, thank you Dr. for teaching me this semester.

First, I obtained the AWS badge from the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations. I am grateful to my lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Tariq bin Idris for inviting me to the AWS academy Cloud Foundations. After learning and exploring the AWS Academy Cloud, I gained a lot of knowledge about AWS. I had no idea what AWS was at the start of the semester, so I tried to find some information about it on the website to learn about it more. In week 5, I began to explore Amazon Web Services (AWS). When I had some free time, I watched the AWS video. I used to watch the AWS video at night. In addition, I planned to finish two modules in one week. So, I will finish all of the modules in week 10 if I stick to my plan, but I finished all of them in week 13 (13/1/2022) because I was too busy with other assignments. I spent about 20 hours to complete all modules and receive the badge on 13 January 2022.

After 9 weeks of exploring the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations, I completed all of the 10 modules by using 20 hours and got the AWS badge on 13 January 2022. There are a few reasons that I felt motivated in completing this project. First, I felt motivated because I am very interested in learning new knowledge about information technology. I gained a lot of knowledge about AWS after I completed all modules. Next, the second reason that I felt motivated was that we need to complete a group project about AWS. We need to understand various AWS services to create a better AWS architecture in a group project. Next, I think the AWS badge is easy to get because we only need to watch the video and complete the knowledge check to get the badge. In my opinion, module 1 is the easiest because module 1 is only the introduction to the AWS, and module 6 is the most difficult because Amazon EC2 has too many functions and it is difficult to understand it in my mind. Next, the AWS badge is worth it because I gained much new knowledge about AWS. AWS badge also increase my onboarding opportunities in the future. 

After that, the AWS badge improved my knowledge and skills on Cloud Computing after getting the badge. This is because AWS is one of the famous cloud computing. I learned about various Amazon Web Services and I can connect the AWS architecture design after getting the badge. Besides, I think every company should shift to Cloud Computing because Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable and scalable infrastructure platform in the cloud. AWS also can avoid a company from building up-front capital infrastructure and help the company save money. Next, in my opinion, every computer science or UTM student should learn Cloud Computing and get the AWS badge. It is very helpful for them to find a job or establish a company in the future. I want to advise my friends who have not gotten the AWS badge. My advice to my friends is AWS is very useful in the field of information technology and it also can help us to improve our knowledge in cloud computing. 

After completing the badge, I will continue to improve my knowledge of information technology. The more knowledge I have about information technology, the more new things I can create in the future. Next, I will continue to explore AWS because I might use it in my future career. I will use my free time to understand various AWS architecture designs. Lastly, I hope I will have a chance to develop a more challenging project to improve my experience and skill in AWS. 

Lastly, I am grateful for getting the AWS badge that is included in SECP1513 subject. Although AWS is difficult to understand, it can improve my skill and knowledge about AWS. I hope that the AWS badge will always include in SECP1513 subject to let us learn about AWS and develop our skills and knowledge.
