Sukan Sekolah Komputer 2020
SUSKOM’20 closing ceremony was held after all the sports have a winner. The contested sport were badminton, netball, run, futsal, volleyball, tug of war and some e-sport games like Dota2, PUBG mobile, Call of Duty mobile and mobile legend. Every winner will get medals and hampers. Students were involved in sport will got the medals meanwhile who were joined Esport will got the hampers. Students who were participants or not are invited to join. Students need to give their attendance to get merit by submitting their Matric id. In that day, some of my friends are won the activities such as Umai and Aleef got the second place in Dota2 also our Tug of War SCSV team got the runner-up. Meanwhile, Izzat, Risshe, Syahir, Haris and Hafiz form a group, Bocan and won as champion in Call of Duty mobile game. The event start at 8 pm and ended about 10 pm. There also have lucky draw session so every participant will get a numbered coupon. Overall from the SUSKOM’20 event, it give all the participants the adaptability and leadership and team working skills to the participants since they have to adapt to the culture of new communication and work environment, ability to recognize potential for improvement, ability to lead and influence team members to complete given tasks and ability to understand responsibility towards group decision.
From the event what I can response is, I felt so fun especially when we all got spend time together. We all got the change to close our bonding when we did not had so much time because of our pack schedule doing degree. Plus, I think it was very unforgettable experience especially with kayak at UTM Lake since it hard to get the permit for kayak. I also felt lucky to have a great team members even though we just met but we manage to get the second place.
After joining this event, I gain that if we are the leader in the team, either team in sport or esport, we should try can lead them since team is a group of different people having different skills. There might be a team member who may not be able to communicate fluently or uncomfortable in talking in front of the team. Being kind with the team would help the leaders to find those hidden talents. Also be an optimistic leader who will look for an opportunity even in a difficult situation. He or she would never quit even the situation is worst or going against the plan. It’s essential for the leader to have this quality as it would boost up the entire team to work positively towards the common goal. Next, we should encourage other people to talk and be a good active listener. People want to be heard, really heard, and not patronized. Oftentimes, instead of listening to someone in a conversation, people are really just waiting for an opportunity to speak. If this is an area where you struggle, one trick is to say “What I understand you’re saying is…” By repeating what you understand the other person to be saying, it forces you to really listen to what they are saying. And as a side benefit, it reinforces to the speaker that you truly are listening to them and respect what they have to say.
