Reflection on Project 2

           In project 2, we were required to do the inferential statistics which is to use the selected dataset (Countries data) and make inferences about the population. We were lucky to have Dr. Chan Weng Howe to provide us the dataset and we chose the dataset that we have the most interest on. The dataset consists of 6 variables which include the population, growth of GDP, percentage of population under the age of 15, life expectancy, and the mortality rate(per 1000 people).

            In this project, we aimed to investigate the factors that would affect life expectancy. Early studies has shown that there are a lot of factors affecting life expectancy including social factors, demographic variables and mortality. We know that the life expectancy reflects the Human Development Index (HDI) of the country. 
            For the statistical test, we have carried out four types of statistical tests which are hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and chi-square test of independence. It helps me to widened my knowledge about the data analysis using inferential statistics. It also a good opportunity for me to apply the knowledge and concepts that I had learnt from this course into this project. In the whole project, I intended to brush up my programming skill of RStudio to ease the work of data analysis and graph plotting. This project also improves my data analytical skills because I have to make inferences about the population of countries using the results from the statistical tests. 

           Hence, by finishing this project, it helps me to improve on data analysis and interpretation and it definitely suits an analytical person like me.
