PSDA PROJECT 1

The title of our project 1 is "Chosen Cafe Among KTDI Student". The title of our survey is “Chosen café among KTDI student”. Our team decided to conduct a study on the preference of KTDI student only. KTDI only have two cafés which are Mak Ngah Café and Arked Angkasa. We were interested to conduct this topic because we are curious about the students who live in KTDI that have their own favorite café. We also wanted to find out about the main reason why they choose that particular café.

We have collected data from a sample of 56 KTDI student in our survey. From the data collected, the number of students choosing Arked Angkasa, Mak Ngah Cafe and others are 31 students, 14 students and 11 students respectively. The highest frequency of student choosing Arked Angkasa are from Year 1 (12) and Year 2 (12) while for Mak Ngah Cafe is from Year 1 (7). We conclude students tend to go to Makngah café more than Arked Angkasa,but the highest cumulative students are more to Arked Angkasa based on the frequency distribution of students go to cafe in a week graph.

The average mean of money spend in Mak Ngah Café is Rm 22.71 in a week while in Arked Angkasa is Rm39.42. It shows that a lot of KTDI student spend their money in Arked Angkasa where RM50 is the highest frequency. This is probably because of they have more variety of food compared to Mak Ngah cafe.For average time students spend time at café, Mak Ngah café has the longest student spend time which between 50 to 60 minutes with the highest frequency respondents answered, compared to Arked Angkasa between 20 to 30 minutes. This is because of the cleanliness of Arked Angkasa is bad compared to Mak Ngah Cafe.The average time waiting for food to be served at both cafe produce the same result which is both of them took an average of 20 minutes.

In conclusion, the most preferred cafe among KTDI student is Arked angkasa since there are 31 students out of 56 sample of KTDI students chose Arked Angkasa as their preferred café. The reason of choosing Arked Angkasa which has the highest rate (41.94%) is that the students takes around 0 minutes to 2 minutes to arrive at Arked Angkasa. We can also conclude that students choosing cafes based on the distance of these cafes from their residential block.

As I am completing project 1, there were things that could be reflected. One of them is, when we first started listing our questionnaire for our survey, we did not consider the type of data we collected and as the result, most of our data were nominal and ordinal. Thanks to our lecturer, Dr Suhaila for guiding and correcting our mistakes, we changed few questions into ratio data. From this mistake, I realized that before starting any project or assignment, I have to firstly make a research about anything regarding the project or assignment.

Other than that, after we are done collecting data, we have to make graphs using R Studio. For me, it was very hard to understand how to use it even after reading the slides and watching some youtube videos. From this, I believe I have to try harder in order to understand and learn something new so that I can help my friends and myself.

One more thing that really make me reflect upon myself is i keep on procrastinating work, when it is near the submission date, we were bombarded with many assignment from other subjects. As a result, I did my part of video quite late. Hence, it dragged my group members behind. From this, I will try harder to do my assignment early.

Besides these, I also received some knowledge after completing Project 1. One of them is I got to learn a new programming language which is R. My friend teach me how the codes work for each graph we want to do. I am so thankful to her since it is hard for me to learn something on my own.

This project required us to make a video. For your information, this project is being conducted during Movement Control Order (MCO) thus each of our group member are away from each other. Communicating using Whatsapp is very essential for us since we cannot see each other. The videos are made separately and we need to combine it into our presentation slide. This is where I learn a new thing which is we can make a video using our presentation slide.

There are so many things I learn from completing this project. One more thing that I cannot left aside is the fact that this Project 1 is being extended to a new due date which gives me more time to adapt in online learning besides completing this project.
