About me
Assalamualaikum. I am Faris Zolkipli and I currently study at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as Bachelor Engineering student in Electrical-Mechatronic. In my study, there are four main field that I learn that is Electrical, Electronic, Programming and Mechanical. Basically, Mechanical and Electrical is more preferred to me because I think this is interesting type of knowledge to learn. Other than academic, I also learn soft skill in UTM. I learn how to communicate with another person and doing work together. I like to investigate something on how it work and how it can be done. I intend to work in a group rather than working something by myself. When doing in a group, the probability of mistake will be reduce significantly. Lastly, I want to pursue a career as an Professional Engineering in Electronic Engineer. In order to achieve my goal, I must commit in my work and collect experience as much as I can.

The titles of the talk are Challenges in engineering employment by Ir. Juraimi Masood. The sixes things he concerns is intro, the journey, electrical, expectation, situational behavior and ethics. He changes his course from telecommunication to electrical power. On 1986 to 1991, he starts as management trainee and become ship repair. On 1992 to 1996, he works at SIME SEMBAWANG at heavy engineering department. He was enrolled to some tasks includes design project plan, project cost, construction and quality. The first thing as most important among his team, is safety.

Then he will proceed to his works. On 1996 – 1997, he works as consultant to complete the KLCC (KTA TENAGA) project, as also as Resident Engineer. At Berth construction, he assists the crane construction bought from China. At Tanjung Pelepas, during the engineer with client, he manages stakeholders and in the development plan. The work scopes that he does was development of the master plan, determining end user requirement and engaging communities. He also PTP master plan. At PTP, the engineer there has to know the knowledge of electrical design and one of it is the 132-kV single line diagram. There are also challenges once you are graduate engineer. Engineer are going to survive the real-life during work environment. They have t support family especially for people from the village and low income and profile. More thinking’s, more doing works.
