My journey to get AWS Certificate

All of my opinions and reflection regarding the AWS Badge is here !

The journey !!

I don't know where to start but my journey to get an Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification is really hard at first, it seems impossible for me to complete those modules that consume around 20 hours. A lot of assignments and projects made it difficult to manage my time for AWS. Therefore, I made up my mind to finish all the modules by finishing a module in 4 days. So, it is around 2 months for me to get this certification that give a lot of benefits and knowledge for me as a student of data engineering. The learning path about AWS is very great because of two ways of learning. The first one is learning via video lecture and the second one is via lab. Not only that, but AWS Academy also provide us with a quiz to check our pieces of knowledge in each module that we have done. For me, the process of learning is easy to understand and when during the labs it is really helpful because I can get early exposure to the AWS system environment. I can explore a lot of things in the labs and it gives an understanding of how the AWS works. I really thank you for the SECP1513 course because give us students chances to explore AWS as it is really important knowledge for Computer Science Students. Last but not least, I can conclude that my journey to get an AWS certification is like a rollercoaster because sometimes I felt lazy to focus on the video lecture. However, an opportunity like this is once in a blue moon. So, of course, I will strive to do my best and I did it xD.

A summary what I gained from the AWS course.

I can summarize that in AWS academy cloud foundations, I am able to learn cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. There are a lot of cloud concepts that I learned such as AWS Core Services, Security, Architecture, Pricing and Support. Each concept needs a lot of patience and focuses to have a deep understanding of it. As first-year students, it is really good for us to get this early exposure regarding the cloud computing concepts as cloud computing is one of the main things in Industrial Revolution 4.0.

My motivation to complete this course.

My motivation to complete this course is my ambition which is I want to become a Data Scientist. In order to achieve my ambition, the concepts of cloud computing are really important as Cloud computing is becoming increasingly vital for not just the software developers but in the field of big data analytics. Cloud computing makes expanding computing power and deploying data solutions much easier and is therefore handy for data scientists who are digging into large datasets. Other than that, I always hold a quote of my life in every work that I do “ I ain’t giving up, to not give up, I have a reason ”.

Which one module is the easiest and the hardest

In my opinion… Haha, getting the badge is really difficult for me as my schedule is very packed. So, that it is. The hardest module for me is module 8 which is databases, the concept is really hard for me to understand and not forget to mention that lab 5 is the hardest lab that I have done in this course. And of course, there are the easiest ones and for me, it is module 1 haha. The surface of knowledge regarding cloud computing and its advantages are easy to understand.

Badge worth ???

For me, having a badge of AWS is a very great achievement, completing those modules, labs and tests is interesting and it's really worth it. I think AWS certified people are so rare that even large companies have a difficult time finding them. So, the badge is worth having and easier for us to seek a job related to cloud computing services.

My feedback !

Having great knowledge that is not common in this course helped me improve my knowledge and skills in cloud computing as they taught the concepts of cloud computing such as building database servers in Lab 5.

My opinion regarding should every company shift to Cloud Computing.

In my opinion, there are pros and cons regarding cloud computing but the pros outweigh the cons. If the company shift to cloud computing, the company can reduce the IT cost of operating and maintaining the system, greater flexibility in work methods and increase collaboration efficiency. Due to cloud computing, a company can run their system smoothly than before.

My opinion regarding whether every computer science/UTM student should get the AWS Badge

In my opinion, having an AWS Badge is a great achievement as students can get a deep conceptual understanding of cloud computing. I think that every computer science student should grab this opportunity because it will enhance their knowledge and give real exposure to the students on how cloud computing services work.

Advice to those who have not get the AWS Badge yet.

Hi friends ! if you have not got the AWS Badge yet, go grab the opportunity. I promised that you will never regret it. Trust me hehee :D

My direction after completing this badge

I think after I completed this badge, I will focus first on my subjects for these 6 semesters. Even I will have free time during the semester break, I will enhance the programming skills that I have learned.

My opinion about AWS that included in SECP1513

In my opinion, it is really great that this AWS Badge is included in the SECP1513 subject because not all students will aware of this opportunity. The foundation of cloud computing will be stronger if students are able to get this badge. I hope this subject will maintain this AWS Badge in the syllabus as it helps students to get early exposure to cloud computing.
