REFLECTION

The recent participation in the event organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA) was not only an engaging experience but also an opportunity to reflect on the vital aspects of graduate attributes, particularly professionalism, leadership skills, teamwork, and communication skills.

Professionalism and Leadership Skills: The modern world demands a unique blend of professionalism and leadership skills. As an Activity Crew for the Badminton Unit, it became evident that professionalism goes beyond mere technical competence. Setting up and managing activities required attention to detail, timeliness, and a commitment to ensuring that every participant had a positive experience. Taking a leadership role in this context meant not just giving instructions but inspiring others through actions, fostering an environment of respect, and leading by example.

Teamwork and Communication Skills: The collaborative nature of the event accentuated the significance of teamwork and effective communication. In a modern setting, the ability to collaborate with diverse individuals is paramount. Being part of the Badminton Unit, effective communication was vital in coordinating schedules, addressing concerns, and ensuring that everyone was on the same page. The experience reinforced the idea that effective teamwork is not just about working alongside others but also understanding and appreciating their unique strengths and perspectives.

Mini Report on the SUSKOM Event

Sukan Sains Komputer 2024 (SUSKOM'24) is not your average sports competition; it's a dynamic convergence of computing students from various programs. Scheduled from 21 to 23 December 2024, this event organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA), Fakulti Komputeran, offers participants the chance to showcase their skills in activities like badminton, frisbee, chess, basketball, and futsal.

As a committee member, my perspective unveils the meticulous planning behind SUSKOM. The team works cohesively to ensure a seamless execution, fostering an enjoyable experience for all participants. Beyond the sports arena, SUSKOM aims to instill values of teamwork, discipline, and friendly competition among computing students, emphasizing diverse activities to engage participants with varying interests and skills.

Aligned with Graduate Attributes, SUSKOM strives to enhance students' abilities not only in sports but also in leadership, communication, and teamwork. It's a holistic approach to skill development that goes beyond academic achievements. Additionally, the event's international appeal attracts computing students from around the globe, fostering a sense of camaraderie and cultural exchange within the computing community.
