Assalammualaikum to Prof. Kamarul asri and to all who read this post, this is my overall reflection journal for my quizzes, tests and the entire topic that I learnt during semester 1 2012/2013 session.

First of all, I would like to talk about my overall reflection on all of the quizzes that I have done during this semester. There are 12 quizzes that I have done in each class that I attended. From all of the quizzes, many things that I learnt that gradually improved my skills in solving various energy balance problem. Some of these quizzes also give me a tough time to solve especially quizzes in chapter 8 energy balance on non-reactive processes because I do not really study more seriously for this been  chapter. Nevertheless, all of these quizzes really improve my problem solving skills especially for the test.

Next, this is my reflection journal for my tests for Principle Chemical Processes. For test 2, my result is not really satisfied me as many careless mistake been made in answering the question. In test 2, mostly it is about the energy balance on reactive process. After I answer the question, I found many mistakes that I made during the test. Firstly, there are mistake that I made regarding the process path. I do not draw the process path in order to answer the question. Thus, I have some confusion in answering the question. As a result, there are several mistake in determining the sign for overall process enthalpy. Next, I also made some mistake in interpreting data given from the questions. I was confuse in interpreting the data such as the value for enthalpy at given condition. Some of the value needs for interpolation from the reference table. For test 3, it consists of chapter from thermodynamic part that were Second Law of Thermodynamic and Entropy I obtained better grades compared to the last tests. Nonetheless, there are also mistakes that I made throughout the test. One of the mistakes is at the last question where we need to draw the T-s diagram and identified the entropy change on the system. This is where we need to interpolate the data from table, but the problem is I do not know how to interpolate it.

Assamualaikum to my lecturer for Principle Elementry Process 2(Energy Balance) subject, Prof. Kamarul Asri' Bin Ibrahim. I wrote this reclection journal regarding the test that I attended  for energy balance subject.     

                First of all,I want to talk about 1st question in the test. The question is about to create a hypothetical proces path and calculate the specific enthalphy of toluene(s) relative to toluene(g) . For (a) we need to explain why we need to  construct the hypothetical process path. For this question I did it using my own words because I do not clear about real objective of the hypothetical path. For (b), we need to construct the hyphothetical path, the mistake occur when I am not creating the real hypothetical path after I created all the path to determine the energy required.

                For the second question, it is the question that I answered it very messy and I found it as the hardest question of all. For this question, I get zero mark.For (a), the question ask to find temperature of water outlet. This is the question that makes me hard to find other answer for other question because the answer is in table b7 but I do not know that the answer is just in the table. For (b),to construct inlet-outlet enthalpy table and calculate the mass of steam fed, as the first question I cannot get, I started to confuse and I just calculate here and there the value and forgot to construct the energy balance table.

                Next, I started to answer queston 3 and I found it hard also as Iget confuse about the mass balance calculationThe fourth question ask us to use psycrometric chart to answer the question. So far, this is the question that I answer it correctly. The things I do are I take out the moisture content and the humid volume only from the chart. After that, I want to do the mass balance and find the dry air volume and water loss in the cereal.Then, after Ifound all of that, Ifinally get the inlet humid air volume.

                In a nutshell, this is all of my reflection for Test I, Principle Elementry Process(Energy Balance) and I hope that I will get a better result in the next test and final exam.
