DESCRIPTION
I have just recently completed my 20-weeks of Industrial Training at Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri. The period of the industrial training was from 25th of September 2023 until 9th of February 2024. I was given the opportunity to be under the Innovation Digital and Big Data Unit or 'Bahagian Inovasi Digital Dan Data Raya" where this division was launched on January 2023.
JABATAN PERKHIDMATAN KOMPUTER NEGERI
Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer was sstablished on July 1, 1976, under the Ministry of Finance, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri (JPKN), originally named ‘Unit Perkhidmatan Komputer (UPK),' initiated its operations on January 1, 1977. It gained recognition in Sabah by 1982 and later, in 2017, relocated to the Sabah State Administrative Centre, with 8 divisions, numerous branches, and IT Support Groups. Evolving with the times, JPKN underwent a name change to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (KSTI). With 217 staff members across 11 departments, strategically placed branch offices, and PID teams, JPKN assumes a crucial role in the dynamic field of technology and innovation.
