On 13 May 2022, I attended the programme Personal Branding With Linkedin which was organized by Persaka UTM. The purpose of this programme is to distinguish ourselves from the competition towards a career path and motivate students on self-improvement to better establish their public persona. The key objective is to share the tips and tricks in properly personalize Linkedin profile in order to attrace potential employers. The programme begin with the speaker Mr Nazrul Irfanradi shared his personal experience and useful knowledge with all of the students. After that he guided us step by step on how to start on linked in, the steps include set objectives, all star, engage daily and post weekly. Then, the programmed was ended with Q&A session.
4. Self-Reflection
From the programme, I know that Linkedin is a place where all the employer or Human Resource departments gather and see your personal profile. Hence, personal branding will be a very important part as some of the companies will check your Linkedin profile before they give you an interview session. If your profile is empty or they can’t even find you inside Linkedin, what’s the point of getting yourself ready for an interview and what’s the point of coming to university. In the real world, recruiters would want to know your highest education level and personal experience so they can get an insight about your knowledge. Besides your personal branding in Linkedin, you also need to know how to stand out among other competitors. You need to share how active you are and how important it is for the companies to hire you as their future leader. Of course, it won’t be an easy journey, hence you’ll need to do it step by step. If your goal is set, the path is clear.
