Reflection Toward Project 1 PSDA
In semester 2 , we were assigned project 1 to conduct a small survey and make conclusion based on the data obtained . The topic we chose is to study on shopping preference of UTM Students ( Online / Offline ) .
In this project , we started by creating a survey that is related to our topic and we decided to use Google Form as the medium to distribute the survey . We discussed the question of the survey together and the questions include of several data type which is Nominal , Ordinal , Interval and Ratio data type .
After that , we learned to use R studio to analyse the data obtained . At first , we dont even know how to use R studio and it is a new thing for us to try , but with the help of Dr . Chan and self studying on youtube , we are able to create graphs and analyse the data in the end .
Graphs were created and we are required to give analysis on the graphs , therefore , we distribute tasks to each of the member and in the end we compile it together and have a meeting to check and modify it together . Of course , lots and lots of modification are required because we also made alot of mistakes during the process . We also asked Dr. Chan for any suggestion and make based on that. In the end , we get the conclusion that UTM students only tend to spend online in a lower budget range and offline in a higher budget range .
In the process , we encountered the COVID-19 situation where we are not able to do physical meetings every week as we usually does , Then , we adapt to the situation by doing virtual meeting ( Google Meeting ) . It was quite a challenge for us because not every member have a good Internet connection but we are able to make through it .
After finish all the analysis and conclusion , we are also required to make a presentation video to present our finding of the project . We used power point to record our video and distribute the tasks to all the members .
This project is a very new challenge for us because this is the first time that we use R studio to do coding and do a real survey . I learned a lot of new knowledge during this period of time especially in data analysis . It is not that we are not learning from our normal lecture but it is different to really experience it rather than just understand it from lecture . By actually doing it , I get deeper understanding on why and how to do it .
In the end , I want to appreciate Dr. Chan who is always assisting us in the Project 1 . Then I want to appreciate my teammates who have been supporting me and help me when I face any difficulties. With the teamwork and supporting from every aspects , we are able to finish this project . I also gained an important value which is Responsibilities and Accountability , Everyone of us did our best and we feel satisfied about our learning and the project .
