Abstract
Clothing ethic among university students aim to give guideline to university student to wear a proper attire to show their professionalism and ethical as a group of people who will strive the future of the country and the group of smart people who will change the world. Clothing ethic show the maturity of the students toward moral and discipline that need to be follow as an intellectual group to be an example to community. Unfortunately, clothing ethical among Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students is being neglected by the student and it is hard to see them wearing a proper attire follow the guideline of clothing ethical when they go to lecture due to lack of affirmation from the UTM authorities. This paper aims to determine the clothing ethics among UTM students. It further explored the opinion of the student about the important of wearing of the clothing ethic in term of wearing matric card, collared shirt and shoes. A total of 85 students from seven different field of study and have different year of study with different gender. Data were collected through online survey consist of four component of clothing ethic. Overall, result reveal that the students have low though of the importance of the student to wear follow the clothing ethical which is less than half of the total rate. The finding of this study provided some educational and theoretical implication
Objectives
The objective of this study is to investigate the trend of students in UTM in following the proper dress code set by the university as well as investigating the factors that affect it.
