1) Mini Report:
University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Malaysia (Sdn Bhd) once again successfully organized the Huawei Connected Campus 2020 which was held at Dewan Sultan Ismail on 3 March 2020. The event was officiated by Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Bin Omar, Vice-Chancellor of UTM and attended by Mr. Lim Chee Siong, Director of Huawei Cloud & AI and Ms. Emily Senior Talent Development Manager. More than 1000 UTM students from all campuses participated in the exciting and enriching event. The event then proceeded with a talk reviewing Business Insight which was delivered by Mr. Lim Chee Siong, Director of Huawei Cloud & AI. The talk focused more on marketing and business insights, advice, and experiences about Huawei, the industry, and how we can make full use of technology and IoT. The second talk was delivered by Ms. Emily Senior Talent Development Manager. In her talk, she stressed more on the Human Resources(HR) point of view as well as providing tips and tricks on handling interview assessment. Other than the technology and career consultation talks, there were also sharing session from Alumni pertinent to their working experience with Huawei as well as various exciting activities such as Kahoot interactive platform and product showcase that handle on Huawei Facebook page. The lucky draw prizes which comprised of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, Huawei P30 Pro, GT2, and Huawei Talk Band B5 were also highly anticipated by the audience. The event ended with an interactive Q&A session from the audience.
2) Self Reflection:
The positive values that I got in the event as a crew member of Huawei was that i learned alot about communication skills. This is because as crew member, I was assigned to handle the registration counter and the QR code attendance. By doing this task I needed to explain to everyone in details how does the event flows as well as providing them with important information of the event. It has directly impacted and developed my communication skill with the participants of the event. Other than that, I also learned how to work with my teammates. Every task that is assigned to us mostly involves working in a team. For example, besides handling the registration counter, I have also been assigned to serve VIP for a lunch. This required me and my team to work together to make sure all VIPs can be served well. I really hope that all the knowledge that I acquire from this program can be useful in the near future.
After one semester studying in this course, I have learned so many thing and acquired a lot of soft skills. Every activities and assignments have been meaningful and beneficial to me. From the industrial visit to the CICT, I have gain many information on how the system in UTM and it's surrounding function. The design thinking assignment also help me improve in my problem solving skills. Me and my colleagues had to brainstorm ideas to fulfill this this assignment. We had to used our creativity and resources to acquire qualitative data, material and knowledge to build the prototype in design thinking skill. This class has also expanded my knowledge on computer hardware and software. The lecturer explained every detail on each topic. By attending IOT Open Day, I have the idea in making my final year project because of all of the technologies and ideas presented during that day. Overall, this subject has helped me understand my course and help create a career path for me.
Poster on Homestay Pulai Spring Resort
This is my first assignment. We had to make a poster Homestay Pulai Spring Resort and this poster will be viral in Facebook group and Whatsapp group. Upon completing this assignment I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop. It was very difficult at first but time by time it became easier. It was fun making this poster.
PC Assembling
During the 22 of November, we had to learn how to disassemble and reassemble a working PC. Each team had only an hour to do the task. After completing the activity, all of the students must make a short report on it. From this class, I learned about all the components of a PC and it was great experience.
Design Thinking
On 19 November 2018, We went to a seminar with the topic of “Design Thinking”. The seminar explain about steps in “Design Thinking”. After the seminar ended, the student was task to create their own product using the “Design Thinking” steps. We were given 3 weeks to design the product as well as making the report.
This assignment has taught me how to solve problems related to computing. We had to interview a few people and ask about their problems relating to computers. I learned that communication is important in solving problems. By communicating with the interviewee, we can understand the problem easily. People dropping their smartphones is a very common issue. So to decrease the likelihood that your smartphone might get damage from falling, we created a smartphone case that can withstand high impacts. This is the idea we proposed.

Industrial Talk on GLOW ( Global Online Force )
During the 24th of September 2018 on a Monday, almost all of the students from the School of Computing participated in an industrial talk about eRezeki and Global Online Workforce (GLOW). The talk about eRezeki and GLOW was organised by Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). The venue of the talk was held at N28a, School of Computing seminar hall. The talk lasted for about an hour and it started at 4:00pm sharp. The goal of this engaging talk was to inform students about how to generate income from online working platforms such as Freelancer. This because not many students are familiar with online working platforms and how they work. With this talk, students should have more awareness about these kinds of platforms and know how they can use them effectively in the future.
The main purpose of GLOW is to coach, mentor and nurture full time crowd workers that are able to consistently earn a stable digital income of at least RM2,000 a month. The program aims to generate fixed and stable digital income for Malaysians via crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing is the future as it enables digital works to be offered and delivered online. Currently, MDEC collaborates with some of the largest global crowdsourcing platforms such as Freelancer and Upwork. Through this program, MDEC aspires to train and nurture qualified apprentices to become successful and capable online freelancers in global platforms. The benefits of online jobs or GLOW overpowers the drawbacks as they are a lot of advantages that you can obtain. Most individuals joined GLOW or work as a freelancer is because of its flexible time and working environment. Furthermore, the advantages of enrolling yourself in this program is that you can generate side incomes without having the inconvenience of leaving your home as all the work can be done from the comforts of your desk. Speaking of working environments, you can choose where you want to work as long as you have a laptop and an internet connection. For students, they may want to do their work in public place such as the library, cafes and etc. If you are a type of person that shy with other people and can’t work in a team, you can just do your work in non-public places.
Lastly, I would like to reflect this industrial talk toward myself. For me this industrial talk was a good chance for me to get some information to use my talent as a computer science student toward right path and use my talent to earn a stable income. I also think that this program will help me to improve my soft skills, for example toward this program I believe that can make me enhance my techniques in managing clients and maintain a good ethics of myself. In my opinion, every students including computer science students should enter this program as it is very easy to follow and the program provides guidance and mentoring sessions. I’m also hoping that the program will evolve actively and successfully to attain all of their achievements until it can compete with other global programs.

Fardin Muttaki, Sharizzat Bin Shamsul and Mathesh A/L Kumar manage to go some of the booth there to get the knowledge and the information about the innovation from that booth. Due to a lot of classes, we lack of time to stop by at all the booth there. The booths that we manage to go titled School Go Green, Using Toy Bricks as an Innovative Teaching in Operations Management and Collaborative Online Social Learning Activities (COSLA).
A lot new ideas and innovations to improving our learning style to make it more interesting and effective to the students. We learned many new things and got new experienced especially when mostly the representative are UTM master students. That give us inspiration to study hard and compete in the international platform. The ideas they invented never we thought of it before. This shown there are many method and style in delivery a knowledge but still need to study further on it to make sure it give more positive impact on students and also for the teachers. This kind of program should continue on the other years. Our hope from this exhibition is that all the innovation can help improving our country education system to the next level.
