Data Engineering Symposium - Participant

On 27/4/2021, Persaka UTM held a program called Data Engineering Symposium. This program is held because they want the students to know what is Data Engineering courses. The title of the event is Career Track In Data Engineering. The speaker for the event is one of our seniors who is currently working at TM. Her name is Qistina Batrisyia binti Azman Shah. Her position is Data Engineer Professional Services in TMONE. Miss Qistina told that during the internship for her fourth year in Data Engineering, she chooses to do her internship in TMONE, and luckily they offer her a permanent job there. She also said that as a Data Engineer, she is not coding all the time but most of the time she has to deal with data software such as Tableau, SAPS, and more. Graduate Attribute that is focused on this event is Thinking Skills. This is because Miss Qistina also told us that to be a successful Data Engineer, you need to have critical thinking skills that will allow you to think clearly and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas. 

As for my reflection, I would say that this kind of program really boosts up my motivation. Miss Qistina made me realize that being a woman in this computer course cannot prevent me from being a successful data engineer. Miss Qistina also helps me to see the industry world even though in a virtual meeting. I am very happy to grab this chance to join the symposium and hope that I will be like Miss Qistina as a speaker for a symposium one day. Other than that, Miss Qistina said there is nothing impossible even though she is not the top student during her degree but then she managed to perform during her internship. She really helps me to be myself and be confident. Next, we were told to be as hardworking as we can to grab the opportunity that is already in front of us. I hope one day I can work in a big company just like Miss Qistina.
