TUN FATIMAH GOES GREEN

MINI REPORT

This programme was the first time implemented at Tun Fatimah college as a sign of support for the campaign implemented by UTM, one day without car as a measure to sustain the university. The programme was conducted for a week from 8 to 14 march 2019. This programme is an initiative to encourage students to sustain the environment.  Environmental sustainability is crucial to envision a harmonious and conducive atmosphere so that students can focus on learning. Throughout the programme, various activities were carried out such as gotong royong, block decorating competition, tree planting and sharing on recycling. Student participation was very encouraging as the college had required participation.  The gotong royong activity aims to clean the college's persecution and is a step to prevent the breeding of aedes mosquitoes thus strengthening the relationship of students of Kolej Tun Fatimah. For the purpose of organizing blocks, this is to create a value of cooperation between the occupants of the blocks in each other ensuring that the blocks are neat and clean. The programme was officiated by the principal of Kolej Tun Fatimah and it had a positive impact which would raise the awareness of the students in each other taking care of the KTF environment by creating a cheerful and harmonious atmosphere.

REFLECTION

This program has a positive impact on myself as through participation this can raise awareness of the importance of sustaining the environment. This program is also a platform for me to improve skill communication with the public. In this programme, I also hold the committee as an Activity unit so I can increase my knowledge in management as well as in leadership. For the activity unit, I was assigned as an PIC that manages activities during the programme.  In my opinion, the program should continue to provide positive feedback to the college atmosphere as well as students. I urge this programme to be improved from time to time to enrich students on the importance of safeguarding the environment as well as supporting government efforts, thus UTM as an example to other local universities.
