Graduate Attributes

  • Thinking Skill
In this event, thinking skill is needed in order to understand the fundamental about the universe and the methodology used to study astronomy. The mechanism that operates the telescope also need the thinking of fundamental concept of light and mirror in physics.
  • Scholarship
In this event, there are many sources of information that can be taken and it also make me to develop an inquisitive mind as there are so many questions that need to be covered in astronomy. I think each of the question is very interesting to be answered.

Mini Report

The event was held on 25 October 2022 for 3 hours and 30 minutes which was from 8.30AM to 12PM. In this event, there is a sharing session about astronomy from 2 speakers which are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abd Khamim Ismail and SR GS. Dr. Othman Bin Zainon. For the first sharing session, Dr. Abd Khamim shared about evolution of the telescope and the fundamental concept of the telescope. He shared the type of telescope and the how the technology has advanced since the past. After the sharing session by Dr. Abd Khamim, Dr. Othman takes over the talk and proceed to give a sharing session titled 'An Astronomical Guide to Human Life: What We Can Learn From Astronomy'. In his talk, he mentioned about how the universe was created and how it is relate with our lives. He also provide some of the theories which cover the origin of the universe and he go through all of the celestial bodies that exist in the universe including the stars and planets. After the talk has been concluded, the host conducted a quiz session which the participant can joined and win the prizes. I have joined this quiz and does not winning the quiz as the others was faster than me. The session was concluded by the announcement of the winner and  the closing speech by Dr. Othman Bin Zainon. He express his precious gratitude to all of the committee and the participants for making the sharing session a success. After that, the sharing session ends at 12PM.

Self Reflection

As a participant of this event, I found the event to be extremely informative and engaging. The first sharing session by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abd Khamim Ismail provided a detailed look into the evolution of the telescope and the fundamental concepts behind it. I was particularly fascinated by the different types of telescopes and how technology has advanced since the past. The second sharing session by SR GS. Dr. Othman Bin Zainon was also very enlightening. He shared his knowledge about the creation of the universe and how it relates to our lives. His talk provided a deeper understanding of the theories surrounding the origin of the universe, and I appreciated the way he walked us through all the celestial bodies that exist in the universe, including stars and planets. Next, the quiz session was also a great opportunity for me to test my knowledge and I really enjoyed the competition. Although I wasn't able to win the quiz, I felt that I had learned a lot from the session. Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to attend this astronomy sharing session. From this event, I have a deeper understanding and more appreciation about astronomy and I look forward to furthering my knowledge in this field.
