- Communication Skill
In this event, the communication between the host and the participant was really crucial as it was a session where we are learning together about the animals. The participant need to be able convey their idea through words and communicate with people that have different background which is zoology in this event. - Global Citizen
As a global citizen, we need to keep updated with the current world issues. In this event, it is after COVID-19 which the zoo was affected by not generating enough income to continue caring the animal. We need to practice and prioritize the sustainability principle in order to overcome this problem together.
Mini Report
The event was held on 14th January 2022 for 2 hours which is from 2.30PM to 4.30PM. In this event, I have been brought to a zoo which is G2G Animal Garden located at Serdang, Selangor. This event was held by the Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTM at their Facebook page through live video. It is one of the experience that I think can only be experienced once in a lifetime. This event exposed the condition of the animal at the zoo after the pandemic has been end. From my observation, all of the animal was in very good condition and was conserved very well by the zoo keeper. I also learnt a lot of animals during the virtual tour. The host which is Raihana interact with the zoo keeper and the animal that she found. The host visited the animals by its categories such as birds and reptiles. The zoo keeper that accompanies her also give further explanations on each animals that she interact with. After the virtual tour has end, the session was continued by lucky draw session. The emcee was very good at keeping the audience entertained. The events end after the QR code for the merit and attendance was shared.
Self Reflection
As a participant in this event, I found it to be an unique experience. I very enjoyed learning about different animals and see their habitats from my phone's screen. This virtual tour also give me the opportunity to see the condition of the zoo after the pandemic. However, I found that this virtual tour is not the same as an in-person tour. This is because I would like to interact with the animals personally and face to face. There are also some drawbacks that I experienced during this event which is sometimes the live video have poor audio and video quality, which make it hard to fully enjoy the experience. Despite these drawbacks, I appreciate the effort that was made by the organizer of this event. I also realized how important it is to support the efforts that the zoo has made to conserve the animals during the pandemic. Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to take part in the virtual zoo tour and I look forward to the possibility of visiting the zoo in person in the future.
