Program Information
UTM UNBOCS 2022 was an event organised by Student Representative Council (SRC) UTM in Dewan Konvokesyen Sultan Ismail on 21st and 22nd of October 2022. It was aimed to let the clubs introduce and promote their activities and involvements to UTM students and staffs.
Mini Report
UTM UNBOCS 2022 was the first physical event joined by PSYCHIC after years of pandemic and we were able to participate and make use of the opportunity successfully. In two days, PSYCHIC was attended by more than 200 students as the QR code presented in front of our booth exceeded the scan limit. PSYCHIC social media, specifically Instagram had garnered almost 200 new followers from UTM students with various faculty backgrounds.
It was indeed a golden opportunity for us to spread the ideas of psychology, encouraged the importance of mental health and fixed misconceptions of psychology. We had interacted with many students regarding the famous theories of psychology such as defense mechanism, MBTI, and more!
I was proud of me and my teammates to be able working under pressure at a very short period of time to prepare as we managed to stay cooperative till the closing ceremony. Although there were some issues with the management, we did not dwell too much in complaining and tried to solve problems on our own.
Graduate Attributes
I was involved in this event under Psychology Interactive Club (PSYCHIC) and below are some graduate attributes I’d achieved:
- Leadership and Team-working Skills (TW3): As this was PSYCHIC first involvement in physical activities since pandemic, the teammates met for the first time and it was quite challenging to cope with each other’s working styles. However, due to lack of time, we manage to unite by understanding each other’s attitude and behaviours, opened to accept ideas and reached a mutual decision.
- Thinking Skills (TH3): UTM UNBOCS was held a week after student’s admission into university, it was quite hectic and rushing, but me and teammates managed to look alternative ideas and creative solutions for PSYCHIC exhibition booth.
- Communication Skills (CS7): PSYCHIC booth was attended by many students and public from various academic and private life background, so we were able to communicate effectively with each other to spread the ideas of psychology.

Role in the Program - Treasurer
As UTM UNBOCS 2022 was a sudden opportunity for PSYCHIC, the members involved were only high committees of the club, which means we were lacking manpower to help all the days. As a treasurer, I managed to expenses spent for the booth preparation, ensuring the budget allocated are precise and reasonable in order to be fair for other upcoming PSYCHIC events.
This event opened my eyes how money expenditures are important to maintain financial stability of a club. We invested the funds to items that are reusable and repurpose in the future to avoid wastage and loss. Due to lack of manpower, I was also in-charged of designing and decorating PSYCHIC booth to attract more attendees.
Self-Reflection
I gained a lot when I participated for UTM UNBOCS 2022, representing PSYCHIC as one of the clubs from the exhibition. I learnt on accepting people’s opinions and be understanding to their behaviors, especially working styles. It opened my eyes that these are the glimpses of how it will looks like when I’m in a workplace. Aside that, I managed to build connections with multiple students from different faculties and clubs, widening my social circle and explore their perspectives further.
This event was the first event that made me experienced the real responsibilities as a club’s treasurer, as I physically managing the club’s finance and expenditures for the first time. From here, I managed to identify the weaknesses of club’s finance and make rooms for improvements for better and smoother financial management progress.
