This portfolio outlines my industrial training experience at SCM International Property Management which known as a well established property management company based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The company specializes in the management of residential, commercial and mixed use developments that offers professional services such as building maintenance, strata management and financial reporting. During my internship, I gained valuable hands on experience in the day to day operations of property management. This include exposure to site inspections, tenant relations and the use of property management software. The practical knowledge and skills acquired throughout this training have significantly enhanced my understanding of the property management industry.

Established on April 20, 1982 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, SCM has built a solid reputation over its 40-year history. SCM also has a presence at Puteri Harbour that I'm internship currently. The company offers a comprehensive suite of professional services that includes property and facilities managements, asset managements and property consultancy. SCM also manages a diverse portfolio of properties over 14,000 units which includes 95% of UEM Sunrise Berhad’s developed properties as well as external properties. The company leadership team brings together over five decades of combined experience in property development, management, construction and information communication technology (ICT).

I did my internship at SCM International Property Management and it was a very valuable and eye opening experience for me. During this internship, I learned a lot about the real work involved in managing properties especially strata properties. I gained practical experience in property management enhanced my solve problem skills, communication skills and my understanding towards Strata Management Act 2013.
Career Goals
This experience has strengthened my interest in pursuing a career in property management. It has provided a solid foundation for me to explore future career opportunities within the industry.
Future Application
I intend to apply the skills and knowledge gained during this internship to my future career and particularly in improving operational efficiency and enhancing residents satisfaction.
CONCLUSION
Overall, my internship at SCM International Property Management has given me valuable exposure to the real world of property management. During, this period, I had the opportunities not only to apply what I learned at university but also to strengthen important practical skills such as teamwork, problem solving and handling daily building management tasks. I also had the chance to improve my communication skills by acting as the emcee during a company event which made me more confident when speaking in front of people.
This experience has enhanced my understanding of the real challenges and needs of the industry and has strengthened my passion to continue working in this field after graduation. Therefore, I truly appreciate all the knowledge, guidance and support given to me during the internship. I believe this experience will be a strong foundation for my future career journey.
