Entry 1 : FYP2 Reflection of progress 1

Goals of the experiment

  1. To determine the suitable gate drive for the project and compatible with the design specifications.
  2. To implement a current limiter circuit into the design as it can protect MOSFET from damage.
  3. To provide isolation between the microcontroller (Arduino) with DC motor.
  4. To observe the output signal of gate drive and output signal from the full circuit.
  5. To ensure that the electric skateboard will operate well without any damage in the circuit. 

 

Expected results of the project

  • Current limiter able to limit the current in the circuit up to 5A.
  • Optocoupler perform a galvanic isolation between the microcontroller (Arduino) with DC motor.
  • The DC motor can be control by using RF controller without any problem in the circuit.
  • All of the circuit elements will be soldered on a soldering board.
