Mini Report

This programme ran alongside our studio projects, from 28th April 2022 to 20 June 2022, from around 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying organised LYSAGHT KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION in cooperation with Bluescope Lysaght. The purpose of this programme aims to encourage students to incorporate practical building materials proposed by Lysaght (eg: steel trusses) into designing interactive display stands for the public. Students are required to work in a group to propose several designs to be selected and technically evaluated by the Lysaght panels which consist of the company employees.

The project requires students to work together in designing a technically pausible display booth design while using the provided materials, transforming conventional materials into extravegant structures with exercise our thinking and adaptibility skills, aswell as our team working and leadership skills. Proposing the finished design also requires Entreprising skills as students are encourged to convince the panel as if they were clients.

Self Reflection

Through this project, I've realised how crucial Team Working is for the success of future graduating architects. The Lysaght panels emphasise the importance of thinking outside the box while not neglecting the importance of technical fluency and knowledge when designing a project. My teammates worked together and learnt the importance of communication and exchanging ideas. I'm trying to obtain more experience and become a successful architect myself through the attributes taught during the project.
