What do we know about poverty in Malaysia?
Since independence, our nation has come up with various approaches to eradicate poverty, especially in rural areas. Up to this day, a sign of poverty decreasing in our community can be seen based on the study conducted by the government. Based on Malaysia’s MPI Benchmark in 2016 portrays that about 0.86 percent of total households faced poverty. That's a small amount compared to other developed countries. So, does it represent the reality despite the rising cost of living, low incomes, and lesser job opportunities?
