I have completed the industrial training for my Bachelor in Chemical Process Engineering for 12 weeks from 20 July 2020 until 10 October 2020 at DAR Energy Sdn Bhd. This picture taken when I do a presentation for DAR Energy Final Review Session in the presence of Ir. Rozali, the owner of the company as well as my Head of Department, Ir Suhaimi and my supervisor En Norazman. This review session meant to highlight the task done by the intern for entire duration of 3 months and the things that we accomplished as well as the challenges that we faced. So I'm going highlight some of the experience that I gained.

Firstly, DAR is an engineering consultant company in oil and gas industry that is comprised of many splendid individuals with years of experiences. I was placed in the project management department and was tasked to assist the project engineer with the project of Provision of EPCIC PM309 Gas Ledang Redev Segment 2 Development Project or Ledang for short. The project is a brownfield project which mean that it is a modification or upgrade on an existing platform.

As a trainee, I was exposed to the reality of working life and its very tiring. Being an assistant to project engineer give me the idea on scope of work as a project engineer. Project engineer (PE) revolves around the interaction between engineers in the  company and the client. They act as focal person in a project. Despites the challenges, I can see that the PE in this company still can maintain their professionalism and took their time to pass their knowledge to me. During internship, I also learned communication and teamworking is the importance skills as it contributes toward the overall progress of the project. Normally a project can take months to complete and any hiccup faced in the middle phase of the project can cause an unnecessary increment in the time required to finish the project in which case both the company and the client will suffer a lose in profit. Become a PE you need to dealing with many people. This have been developed my interpersonal skill since you need to know when the right time to talk with the engineer and how you convey your information to make sure they do the job. Leadership is important as a project engineer as well as the technical knowledge. I'm also able to meet a lot of new people from various background and I really love how friendly and approachable they are despite their workload. Even is something quite stressful but I do feel enjoy work in project management department. I discover many thing that not related to my studies.

Lastly, I'm thankful for the opportunity given by DAR Energy as well as the contribution by En Norazman the project engineer that helped me a lot during my internship here at DAR Energy
