as software engineering developer we are always looking for the opportunities to extent our knowledge base and enhance our skills, this workshop was conducted to expose the new arrival software engineering students at UTM and other faculties students to the basic knowledge of web development, it involves teaching HTML, CSS and JavaScript, the workshop last for over 9 hours were filled with knowledge, techniques, tricks, and patterns, code structure and the most important subtopic was the problem solving mindset where it focused on giving hint and advices of a good code structure and how to apply clean code principle.
self reflection:
i was happy to join such an impressive workshop, 9 hours felt like 9 minutes, wasn't enough to cover all the topics and sub details, however, i think that the workshop team workers have done a really good job with managing, presenting and explaining most of the basic knowledge of web development, regardless the good effort and job i would like to mention that adding a brief description about software engineering at the beginning of the course would help non software students to follow along with the course content.

passion is what give purpose to our existence in life and it adds adventure to it as well, and as software a have been always passionate to learn more about my major and explore new technologies. a big chance came across our eyes, Huawei event, Huawei is looking for a software engineering to join them in the journey of developing new operating system, it was the opportunity that each software engineering student in that venue ever wanted. almost 5 hours talk explaining about how things works at Huawei. until the speaker mentioned that the offer is only for local students then i had to leave. looking for another opportunity.
- Self-reflection:
the event was very well managed by Huawei team, i think we had chance to communicate with such a big company, we had the chance to ask them many especially the ones that are related to the industrial work, i liked the idea that they were gathering a big team of software engineers to helping participating in build a operating system, a chance would be considered as a great start of software engineering student, unfortunately, by the end of the event we were informed that the work offer only available for local student which was a great disappointment to me.

nowadays most people have the thoughts that skills only involves technical side, such as building a machine design a prototype, coding and more skills that are related to the industrial effect, however looking at the world leading company we can see that most of CEOs doesn't consume a 100% knowledge of major, earlier 2015 people started to realize that the knowledge skills aren't enough to achieve their dreams, this event focused on the skill of being a leadership, once we here the word leadership most people either reject to cover that rule because they fear the idea of being responsible of big decisions that might paly rule in the company or team. this course provided some responsibilities the leader should work on it rather than making decision, such as plan the work, divide the tasks be responsible of team mistakes, make hard decisions when needed.
self reflection:
i think that this event was good, i was exposed to new leadership skills that i must improve, i had the chance to discuss some questions with speaker, such as the effect of being a leader on the real life, and how does a leader manage his/her time to balance between the work and home space, and how to evaluate your skills as leader and to expose your breakpoints without getting involved on a real situation, i think we learned a lot of good knowledge and i hope i can attend such a similar event in the near future.
