1500 words Reflection
SEGA is a program that is fully sponsored by KOLEJ TUN DR ISMAIL, it has many programs and is open to public, so everyone even UTM students from another college can also join because it has merits and principal quota. Everyone who wants a quota that can be used to apply for a room inside college in KTDI before the official apply for UTM College. For e-sports games, the games that is available for us to register is “Mobile Legends”, “PUBG Mobile”, “Dota 2”, “FIFA” and “Call of Duty Mobile”. All of these games are joined by many students who want the principle quota. Besides that, all of these games start on the same day and end on the same day too. And I also want the principal quota for KTDI and that is one of the reasons why I join SEGA programme and another reason is that because I think I am a good player in e-games too, and for that, I join the KTDI SEGA e-games tournaments which the games I join is mobile legends. This tournament is held on 8 march 2020 until 9 march 2020 as you can see inside the certificate that I give alongside this reflection. The certificate is verified by the principle of Kolej Tun Dr Ismail himself, Lt. Kol. Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Noor Azli Bin Hj. Ali Khan. The purpose of this program is also to make students active in curriculum and not just only well in academic.
When the registration opens a few weeks before the tournament start, I assemble my team, we discuss whether we want to join in or not, because at least we must have 6 members in a team for the registration process. And I manage to persuade my teammate to join my team, when the team is completed, I go and ask the person in charge for the registration purpose. My team consist of six player which are me, Halim, Nuri, Azam, Dzil and Afif. All of these players are good and can do well in tournament, their rank is also higher than mine. We train everyday trying to get a perfect combo for my team, but apparently I am too weak at that time. So I can just play 3 heroes only, the heroes are Tigreal, X-borg and Granger, I can play very decent with these heroes. I will explain about teamwork which are very important so the readers should read how this game work. This game is about teamwork where you need to communicate with your team members to win the game. There are 6 roles inside this game, the roles are tank, fighter, assassin, marksman, mage and support. In this game, we need to come up with a 5 heroes draft from that 6 roles, some will use 2 tank inside the game, some will use 2 mage, some will even use 2 assassin. But mostly, most team will have draft like 5 different roles which are 1 tank, 1 fighter, 1 mage, 1 marksman and 1 assassin because this is perfectly balance. The tank will try to cover the assassin and the team, the marksman and the mage will stay behind tank in war, the fighter than join the fight side by side with tank to reduce the damage taken by tank, the assassin will get into the backline of enemy to kill their damage dealer or any other squishy enemies and when their damage dealer is dead, it will be an easy victory to win that war and we need to repeat this by using our logic and critical thinking skills to make decision because enemy usually will not fall for the same trap twice. So, right now you can see how teamwork can lead this game in to a victory. We train day by day but of course we set our studies as our priorities first. There is one match that I use a tank called Tigreal and win the game. And that is when I created a combo with Dzil, it is a deadly combo when I and Dzil use the ultimate at the same time, the enemy cannot escape this deadly combo. We use this combo so many times and I quite confident that we can win using this gameplay. For Azam and Halim, they are multi-role. They can play most heroes so they usually use the assassin and fighter for offlane. Here I forgot to mention what is offlane are, offlane is a hero that play solo in their lane, when enemy is distracted the can the enemy tower to win the game, the objective of this game is to destroy the main tower, if we manage to destroy the enemies main tower, we win the game. So, there is no point of war if no one will stop the enemies from destroying each tower. I play tank because tank is the most important role inside the game, tank can make enemy lost control for a moment and that is when the teams should be function, they should attack the enemies that is trapped with the tank. The enemy team will also try their best to save their teammates because they do not want us to get more gold than them, because if the team get more gold than the enemies, the teams will have a huge advantages when a war begins, they can play aggressively so that the enemy back off and fail to defend their tower, the enemy also will not have time to push and destroy that team’s tower. So it is a communication game where you can only win when you communicate well with your team members.
On the tournament days, we play it at night only, it will take 2 to 3 days to finish the tournament. Of course, the losing team will not have to fight anymore and their game is over. But to lost this tournament, you need to lost 2 times. If you lost for the first time except for the final, you will be dropped to lower bracket where if you win the lower bracket, you can fight at the final with the winner of the upper bracket. Here we play very well inside the tournament until our combo is broken, the enemies we fought before tell our secrets to the enemies, so they have tine to prepare for the upcoming battle. So when that happens I switch role with my teammates, I play marksman and Azam play tank since my Tigreal combo will not work anymore. We need to adjust to the enemy. Yes, we survive a bit longer but because me and Azam are not specialize in those roles, so we lost the game. We fall to lower bracket and we fought our ways back to the final, at the final, we fought a different team since the team that won against us lost to this team. We lost that game because the enemies control of the heroes is too good. So we got 2nd place in that tournament. After the tournament ended, a few days later will have a ceremony about this SEGA. That day is when the sponsor will give the winners their present. My team got 2nd place so we got RM120 and we divided it by 5. That night we went out to McDonald near UTM to celebrate our win. We talk about how we lost the game, what about the next tournament, do you want to join, because with our skills, we can improve and win more games. We play a few more games, try a new combo but that night is not on our side. We lost all the match that night. It was so sad but still happy to get 2nd place in the tournament. The new combo we tried fail and maybe that is because of me who is in experienced in this game.
The graduate success attribute we learned from this is team working, it is more to impossible if win this gam without a good teamworking and communication skills, because all player need to be connected to each other for a better performance. Next is friendship, where I can become more closer with my friends, this game also teaches us to not to be hardworking, we cannot surrender unless it is truly a confirm lost. And I do not like to surrender too. This game also teaches us how to be patience, because we need to be able to find the right moment to win the game. We cannot just barge in and start a war, that will put us in disadvantages, we need to see whether the enemies are ready or not and their position is out. Only then is the best time to start a war, then the enemy will be the one at disadvantages. We can eliminate enemies one by one until there are wiped out. After that we focus on the objective to push to get to the main tower and destroy that main tower.
