REFLECTION

From the project I have done, I gained more knowledge regarding test analysis such as hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, regression test, and chi-square test. By using R programming, I realized that it is more efficient to analyze all the tests as it helps us in calculation and visualize the graph which helps us to understand more clearly towards our study. We just need to know how to write code and function for R Programming and it will be easier to carry out the analysis. The topic for our project is high school student data related to the decision to go to college obtained from Kaggle.com and the data aims to predict whether students will continue to go to college or not.

Our team has conducted four test analyses which are hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, regression test, and chi-square test of independence. We use given variables such as type of school, parent’s age, parent’s salary, and more, in order to have accurate data for our analysis test. We can conclude that the average grade increases as the parent’s salary increases. Moreover, it is fascinating to know that there is a correlation between house area and students' average grades. In the real world, it is true as a learning environment influences students' performance. However, we also faced some difficulties because our dataset was too large which made our graph difficult to evaluate and create undesirable results.

I would like to thank the lecturer and all my teammates because they were very cooperative and supportive throughout the process to complete this project. Without good communication, we cannot divide tasks equally and explore R programming together. Difficulties that we encounter have improved our problem-solving skills in order to become professional software engineers. I managed to extract important key points for our presentation and project report. Last but not least, without the guidance from our beloved lecturer, Dr. Aryati, we would not be able to finish this project even though we are not conducting physical classes but Dr. Aryati is always accessible and easy to contact.
