MINI REPORT
During my third semester, I participated in the Packet Tracer program organized by PERSAKA. I am joining this workshop to enhance my skill development. As a computer science student, it is essential to have practical knowledge and skills in networking. Joining the Packet Tracer workshop provided an opportunity to enhance my understanding of network simulation and troubleshooting using the Packet Tracer software. Furthermore, by joining this workshop it will help me with Academic Enhancement. The program offered by PERSAKA was aligned with my academic subject which is Network Communication and complemented the theoretical knowledge I gained during my studies. It provided a practical platform to apply concepts learned in the classroom and bridge the gap between theory and real-world implementation.
The Packet Tracer program organized by PERSAKA focused on developing several graduate attributes for example thinking skills. Through hands-on experience with Packet Tracer, participants were able to enhance their technical competence in network simulation, configuration, and troubleshooting. The program emphasized practical problem-solving in networking scenarios. Participants learned how to analyze network issues, identify solutions, and implement them effectively using Packet Tracer. Moreover, it enhances my communication skills as I grab my opportunity to ask with the speakers regarding the workshop and also I get to interact and discuss with the participants.
During the workshop, many activities were carried out, the program started with an overview of Packet Tracer, highlighting its features and capabilities. Participants were introduced to the user interface and guided on how to create and configure network devices. After that, the speaker shared about Network Topology Design. Participants learned the principles of designing efficient and scalable network topologies using Packet Tracer. The trainers provided guidelines on factors such as network size, bandwidth, and security considerations. Lastly, practical sessions focused on configuring network devices, assigning IP addresses, and troubleshooting common network issues. Participants gained hands-on experience in troubleshooting techniques using Packet Tracer.
The Packet Tracer program organized by PERSAKA was a valuable experience for all participants. It provided a platform for developing practical skills in network simulation, configuration, and troubleshooting using the Packet Tracer software. The program aligned with several graduate attributes, including technical competence, problem-solving skills, communication and collaboration, and lifelong learning. The program has undoubtedly contributed to my academic and professional growth, and I look forward to participating in future activities organized by PERSAKA.
SELF REFLECTION
After I participated in the workshop, there were many impacts on my development of the students’ graduate attributes. It developed my thinking skills. I learned how to analyze network issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions. Throughout the program, It helped me to foster my technical competence. It can be seen when it provided me with a deeper understanding of network simulation, configuration, and troubleshooting using Packet Tracer which is a valuable knowledge for my future career. On the other hand, it also improves my communication skills by interacting with the speakers related to the workshop.
After completing the workshop, there are myriad benefits that contributed to my experience, for example eagerness to learn. This eagerness helped me to actively engage during the workshop. There are also challenges during the program which are time constraints, there are many things that should be covered however the time is not enough for us. In order to overcome that, I managed to get the useful source from the speaker, for example the presentation slide, the packet tracer template and some more so that I can learn by myself. Moreover, working with network simulation tools like Packet Tracer can be complex, especially for beginners. I sought guidance from the speaker, asked for clarification whenever I faced any difficulties.
In conclusion, participating in the Packet Tracer program organized by PERSAKA has been a valuable experience. It has positively impacted my students' graduate attributes in terms of technical competence and thinking skills. Despite the challenges encountered, I was able to manage it well.
