Mini report
Kerana Siswa Untuk Masyarakat 2020 (KESUMA 20) is a big event that was organized by PMIUTM that provide community services to Islamic community in Indonesia in aspect of financial, education and welfare. This event was donated and sponsored by UTM students and community, Muslim Care Global (MCG) and Pusat Zakat Islam UTM that gathered RM 20,000.00 to help the poor community. As a director, I was conducted a good plan and schedule about our sponsor programme in order to achieve our target on the corresponding date in a Gantt chart. We make the charity at night market, around UTM and sell merchandise get the money and we achieved the amount that we targeted within 3 months. We begin our trip with went to Pulau Desa Niur Permai, with a simple convocation with the villagers. Then, we were introduced with head villager and chosen villagers that deserved support from us. We provide ‘Sembako’ that contain rice, oil, floor and other groceries that can afford them in a week usage. There are a lot of activities for the next day which is the performance of student from standard school, perform Quran recitation, opening ceremony and talk from Muslim Care Global (MCG). We donated RM 5000.00 to As-Sufi mosque in order to support for incomplete remaining constructions. At night we conducted a motivation session with the students to make them inspire in their life and not easily to give up.
The next 2 days trip, we went to Batam, to visit the education institution. The objective we went there is to share and convert our knowledge about how we conduct our Islamic Organization in UTM in aspect of Daa’wah, media platform and so forth by discussing with Batam student. After that, we were invited to have a visit around of Batam institution to get know what courses that they provide. Along this trip, we grab the opportunity to have a visit around Batam to visit the iconic bridge of Batam that connect a lot of estates and diplomation. Then, the next trip was continued with visit to Batam madrasah. We were invited by the students with performance of ‘Gurindam 12 belas’, nasyeed and so forth. We donated RM 5,000.00 to Batam Madrasah in order to support the facilities and other needs such like books and stationaries. At the end of the trip, the madrasah makes a simple farewell lunch and photography session.
Self-reflection
A lot of benefits that I gained from these 4 days trip. I be able to lead KESUMA team in order to have a good management and teamwork. I have never experienced this role before and it might be a little bit nervous for me to conduct the team. It gave me a leadership experience. I also be able to have a good time management since I can make my own Gantt chart for the KESUMA and myself schedule. The clash of 2 different nation between Malaysia and Indonesia gave me a huge challenge and memories since we need to communicate with them and know their culture. This trip also gave us new friends with our nation neighbourhood. I also experienced about the adaptability to another country because the situation in Indonesia was different compare to Malaysia. KESUMA 20 also teach me about enterprising skill in order to promote our project to UTM community to make them donate to our project in order to collect funds. Last but not least, we also gain scholarship skill because we need to find sponsor to have a good financial for our project.
