Power and Refrigerent System

hello hello hello!

ouh ya.. chapter ni ade cerita pasal:Cool

  • power system
  • rankine cycle
  • effect of pressure and temperature on the rankine cycle
  • deviation of the actual cycle from ideal cycle
  • the Vapor compression refrigeration cycles
  • deviation of the actual capor-compression refrigeration
this chapter we should be able
  1. analyze vapor power cycles in which the working fluid is alternately vaporized and condensed
  2. calculate the performance of power cycle, refrigerators, and heat pumps
  3. analyze the ideal vapor-compression refrigeration cycles.
i think this chapter are more relax...hehehe than entropy. this is because it is simple compared to the entropy. we do not get more excercises or quizzes about this chapter ,but it still helpful. if we understand the concept insyaAllah we can understand the question..
dr. Aznizam also said that this chapter is more simple.(actually i'm not so sure heehehe)...
anyway just wish me luck for FINAL exam on 5/1/2013 N29 (9.00 am-12.00pm)
thank you to dr. aznizam for being my lecturer for this subject. i'm glad to have you.. thank you for teaching me. Smile

Entropy

salam alaik...Cool

as a students, i should be ABLE to define the entropy, know the entropy of a pure substances , entropy generation and also the efficiency.

actually i'm not really understand this chapter. but, i think in this chapter i need to be more creative to get an idea to answer the question. all the assignment and quizzes that had given by Dr. Aznizam are really helpful.

TEST 3Sealed

hurm.. for question 1 and 2 i am able to do.. but i think i loses mark on question 3 and 4. (xtaw pon..sebab x dapat paper lagi..hahahaha..agak2 je)Wink.

ouh ya! i am a little bit confsed about the isentropic. so i think i should study and focus on it.  Cry.(focus final ni!)

Thermodynamics (2nd Law)

hurm.. hurm.. hurm.. thermodynamicsYell..

my first impression to this topics  easy. hahaha..Undecided

but.. it just for a while.. in this chapter we are able to define what is 2nd law of thermodynamics. i learnt about the efficiency of heat engine, heat pump, and refrigerator. after calculate the effieciency, we need to compare with the carnot. so that we know the system are effience or not.

Cool yg ni best lagi... lepas ni bru msk entropy...Sealed

energy balances for reactive process

chapter 9... in this chapter i had learnt about heat of reaction, hess's law, heat formation and heat of combustion.

heat of reaction can be calculated using hess's law and heat of formation. Dr. Aznizam preferred their student to use heat of formation. this is because this method is easy to understand. it depends.

TEST 2... Surprised

this test had covered all the chapter 9 topics. alhamdulillah its better than test 1. but my mark had been deducted (5m) because i'm used a wrong method for the last question. it was realy bad because i did not read the question carefully.

and also.. in this chapter we must MASTER the mass balance. wow! :)Sealed

objective:

student should be ableCool :

  • compute heats of formation from experimental data for the enthalpy change of a process with reaction taking place.
  • calculate heat of reaction.
  • apply general energy balances.

Test test test.. test 1!

Test 1 is covered only for chapter 8. so.. we need to expert how to read the psychometric chart. i understand about the psychometric chart because the way Dr Aznizam deliver is really good.

In chapter 8, we as the students should define the variable heat capacity in constant volume, heat capacity at constant pressure, heat melting and heeat of vaporization. During the class, students give a full attention about this topics.

we are also learn about Kopp's rule to estimate the heat capacity of a liquid and solid species.Cool
