Report Activity No. 2 - KULIAH ASTRONOMI ISLAM: ‘ISU-ISU DALAM PENETAPAN AWAL BULAN HIJRAH’ 

Kuliah Astronomi Islam: ‘Isu-Isu Dalam Penetapan Awal Bulan Hijrah’ is the activity that I joined organised by PEMETA. The main reason I join this program is I am interested in the title of the main lecture and the speaker. The invited speaker is Profesor Dr. Mustafa Din bin Subari (Profesor Adjung), panelist of Pakar Falak JAKIM. Dr. Mustafa Din is an influential person in the field of astronomy, and he gives lectures on his research expertise. This is a rare opportunity, and it would be a waste not to participate in this program. The output from this program is focused on the thinking skills and adaptability of an individual. This program is conducted online through Webex and it indirectly improve the way of problem solving, scientific skills and also the ability to work efficiently in new situations for the participants present on the day. Not only that, it can also improve the ability to think critically, holistically and systematically about the topic of the talk and activities after the talk. The content of this activity is that we learn about how to determine the Islamic calendar.

fter this program, I can be adaptable and ready to learn and have abilities such as creativity, critical thinking, an open mentality, and the capacity to study, plan, collaborate, and communicate. Graduates who are adaptable are also aware of and can handle the other big event for the next time and can do better than before this. The biggest challenge I faced in  this program was program ask by lecturer to handle the program last minute, that is a week before program running and my friend and I a little rushed because we don't have experience to handle online program before. The way I overcome this challenge is that my friend and I rehearsal through online and test the web and audio for many times and ask lecturer to monitor. Lastly we success to running the program as planned. Although we don’t have many time to prepare but we succeed in conducting the program and get praise by the lecturer.
