Activity Information:
The Research Information Literacy for Undergraduates activity was held online as a Webinar on April 12, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The Webinar was hosted on Webex by the UTM Library and aimed to help undergraduate students develop their research information literacy skills.
Graduate Attributes:
The activity focused on enhancing various UTM Graduate Attributes, including communication skills, thinking skills, scholarship, leadership and teamworking skills, adaptability, and enterprising skills. By improving their research information literacy skills, undergraduate students can become better researchers, improve their academic performance, and prepare for future careers.
Position/Role in the Activities:
As a participant, my role in the activity was to actively engage in the Webinar and apply the skills and knowledge acquired during the session. I worked in groups to evaluate and discuss the credibility of various sources and identify the most appropriate sources for a given research question.
Mini Report: The Research Information Literacy for Undergraduates activity was informative and insightful. The Webinar provided practical tips and strategies for finding and evaluating sources for research projects. I learned how to critically evaluate sources and identify credible information that is relevant to my research question. The Webinar also introduced me to useful tools and resources for managing citations and references.
Self-Reflection: Participating in the Research Information Literacy for Undergraduates activity was a valuable experience. I now feel more confident in my ability to find and evaluate sources for research projects. The Webinar has also taught me the importance of critically evaluating information and using credible sources in my work. Moving forward, I plan to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during the session to improve my research and academic performance.
